& THE DAYS GO BY.
CYLAN MCCLOUD ϟ 7TH YEAR, 17 ϟ RAVENCLAW ϟ MUGGLEBORN ϟ DYLAN SPRAYBERRY
LIKE A STRAND IN THE WIND.
Born to a relativity normal family, Cylan lived his life as any muggle child would in the seaside town of Troon, Scotland. With triplets for older sisters, he didn’t have much privacy as a child, and with an extended family that couldn’t seem to stop butting their noses in, it was even worse. He and his sisters normally hid with their cousin, Andrew, when the lot of them decided to congregate in one of the houses. It was there that the five of them played together, normally games involving witches and wizards. However, when his sister, Veronica actually displayed use of real magic by moving a lamp without touching it? It wasn’t long before they realised why. They had a real witch in the family, a full blooded, wand waving witch. And, with devout Catholic parents? This wasn’t allowed. She was sent to live with her grandmother, seeing as she was the only one in the family that would have her.
He hardly saw her from that point on, but she did send letters with an owl— which was odd. She said that her new school known as Hogwarts was, in a word, magical. But he didn’t think that he’d ever see it’s halls— but three years later? Cylan’s own letter to the school landed on their doorstep. He was given a choice, either forfeit going to the school, or forfeit seeing his parents until he gave up on the wand swishing. It was a hard choice for a ten year old to make, but he did the same as his sister and followed in her footsteps— going to live with his Nana McCloud and eventually going to Hogwarts.
Over the years he’s came into his own, excelling at what he does best— magic. He joined his sister in Ravenclaw, and although she’s now graduated, he still keeps in contact with her and his other siblings via owls (his parents not knowing of the contact) but has bloomed in the school. Being a valued member of the Qudditch team playing as a beater as well as one of the seventh year prefects. However, he is very much dreading the thought that he will be leaving the school. It’s his final year, and he’s not sure if he’s ready to leave just yet. Sure, he has his plan of wanting to become a full time Quidditch player and actually make a name for himself in the sporting world, but at the same time he still wants to hang around in the library and never leave. Hogwarts is home to him, Hogwarts is a place where he can freely be who he wants to be, where he can be the way that God intended. There’s no way that he’s ready to give that up just yet, and is almost sure that when the time comes for him to leave the school that he’ll try to dig his heels into the one place that has made him feel accepted for the past seven years of his life.
IN A WEB THAT IS MY OWN,
Cylan in a word would be: chatterbox. He can natter on for an age about a subject without realising it, but of late is trying to catch himself. He doesn’t like dominating a conversation, he likes a discussion. His mind works fast, his mouth struggles to keep up and this happens even more so when his emotions come into place. He has a hard time hiding how he truly feels and is a very passionate individual. He is very in your face if you piss him off, which happens a lot if you say the wrong thing. Cylan’s fuse is almost non existent, and this is proven especially when someone offends or says something about someone that he cares about. A loyal friend to the end, he’s like a small yappy dog who will bark and attack anyone who gets on his bad-side. If you have him as a friend, you’ll have him as one for life or until you break his trust– that’s something that’s a little hard for him to give back. He’s been hurt deep before, and once he lets someone in and they break him? It’s almost impossible for them to return to what they once were.
I BEGIN AGAIN.
