Accordionist Elias “Shuk” Badeaux (1920-1978) formed “Badeaux and the Louisiana Aces” in 1950. Guitarist D. L. Menard joined the band in 1952, and they recorded four titles for Swallow in 1961-2, one of which was the now-iconic “The Back Door.”

Personnel on this recording are: Elias Badeaux (accordion), Joe Lopez (fiddle), D. L. Menard (vocal/guitar), Archange Touchet (steel guitar), John Suire (drums)
