Avery let out a sigh as he closed his apartment door and leaned back against it. They had a long night, posing, smiling for cameras, and walking down the red carpet for some Broadway fundraiser. He always hated those type of events. As outgoing and happy as Avery usually was, something about stuffy rich people events always gave him imposter syndrome. Hell, he could barely stand the Tonys. Still, he supposed Jane was a fun enough distraction. He still couldn’t tell how he felt.
His managers were right the publicity stunt worked, they were blowing up social media and magazines, some were even calling them the new IT couple. “You have no idea how badly I wanted to go home that whole time.” he complained to his fake girlfriend. His hand reached up to easily start undoing his tie. “Do you know how many times I got asked if I was gonna propose soon? It’s getting ridiculous.” he grumbled, kicking his shoes off next. “Anyway, you want anything to drink? You staying over tonight?” He had actually gotten very close with Jane over the last few months. Slowly they were beginning to spend time together even when there weren’t cameras, they were talking. She was probably his closest friend now.
