With all the chaos surrounding the city, it was always nice to have friends to turn to. Lorna hadn’t been in New York nearly long enough to have a huge extended network of people she could call on, but she did have a few people. People she knew through crime fighting, people she knew through the X-Men, people she knew through classes... Somehow, Kamala was a mixture of all of them. Calling her when she needed a break from the bustle of Xavier’s was an easy, natural reaction. It was little surprise when Kamala agreed to meet up with her at the park, and as soon as her friend came into view, Lorna thrust a coffee into her hands. “I’m going crazy,” she announced with a sigh. “Seriously, this is it. I’m losing it. Have you ever lived with a dozen mutant kids who suddenly have different powers than they’re used to? It’s not pretty, Kamala. They’re gonna burn the house down, and I’m only gonna be able to feel relieved because at least then I won’t have to deal with it! And the Professor is gonna read that thought from my mind and give me a disappointed look and then I’ll feel bad.”
