Tutorial - Black Hair is Actually Black (DA:I - Works with ALL Patch Versions)
So ya know how when you make an inquisitor with black hair, you end up with this weirdish blue
seriously, wtf is going on
Well: here’s your solution!
Instructions under the cut
Download Savefiletools - specifically DAS editor.
*You can also retrieve it at DAI CLI Save Editor on DA Nexus (uploaded by ricco19 on the Nexus)* - Thanks to daimodders for pointing this out
Unzip the files and stick it somewhere. I would recommend a folder separate from your Inquisition saves
Now, find the save you want to edit (I would suggest the most recent save to see your changes right away.
*Copy and paste your old savefile somewhere else (i.e. your desktop) in case you mess up*
Then drag to .das editor to open the program
And all that helpful info at the top basically lets you know which save you loaded
You should hit option 3: Manual Edit Values
And it gives you a bunch of options - you can just hit “enter” to leave your options unchanged.....
or enter a new value to change it
But we want to do hair specifically:
So just hit enter until you get to these options
If you want everything to be black (facial hair, eyebrows, lashes, etc) change all of these values to zero:
LEAVE HAIR SPEC1 and HAIR SPEC 2 ALONE as unchanged (which will pop up in between hair color and scalp hair color)
otherwise it’ll look like your hair is a black hole containing the void.
Now, after you are done editing everything, you’ll get this message:
So go back to your save files and you should see a new file there:
Move it somewhere else, i.e. your desktop.
Right click on it and select “Rename”:
Delete the .NEW to change the file type to just .DAS
Click “yes” when you get this dialogue box:
Move it back to your saves folder
and select “move and replace”
When you load your edited save, you get:
THAT DOESN’T CHANGE AS MUCH!
And, of course, you don’t have to restrict to black hair, black eyebrows:
But that’s a tutorial for later.
