Percival woke with a start, grabbing his wand as he sat up in bed, heart racing as it pumped adrenaline through his veins, that is until the would be threat crawled into bed, wringing in between Percival and y/n, who stirred in her sleep, a kind sleepy smile at her beautiful lips. “You have a bad dream, sweetheart?’ y/n asked, voice still thick with sleep as she wrapped their son in her comforting arms, stroking his dark hair, that was more than likely sticking up every which way, as she had done so many times for him, after his own nightmares, he couldn’t stop his heart filling with pure unconditional love at the site, even if he wanted to.
“You’re safe, we’re here together, we’ll not let anything hurt you’ Percival murmured, as he pulled his little family into his arms, placing a gentle kiss to each of their foreheads. He could feel his sons heartbeat slowly calming, as his mother hummed a gentle lullaby, the same heartbeat that had both thrilled and terrified him the very first time that he had heard it through the pinard, that the midwife had offered him. He smiled at one of his most treasured memories, as y/n continued to hum, while his son drifted back off into hopefully more peaceful dreams.
