in my head i have this modern au where jay stumbles across birdy (he’s mildly drunk at the time) and winds up with draven only about two years later. he knew of birdy but had sorta overlooked their encounter  and didn’t give it any thought when he saw her walking around with a baby.

since they weren’t on close terms he never knew it was his til cps showed up at his door saying she had been in a car wreck and this was his kid

he runs into del while hes panicking at walmart wondering what the fuck do in the diaper aisle. she sorta wings it but helps him get moving- she googles a lot on her phone. and when he winds up blurting how he wound up with the kid she thinks its cute and makes a point of sticking around.
