School (Bucky, Tony, Steve)
“Do I have to go, Papa?” You asked, referring to the first real school you would have ever went to. You were entering the first grade. “Yes, you do. Now, come on, I don’t want to see you late on your first day of school.” He said and guided you to the classroom. Mrs. Sheppard’s classroom. You tightly held onto your papa’s jean covered leg as the two of you got to the door with the blonde, average height, skinny, and green-blue eyed woman stood in front of it. Your gripped tightened on Bucky’s jeans. “Hi,“ she bent down to your height, “are you Ms. Barnes?” She nicely asked. You didn’t answer, just shifted around uncomfortably. “I know this is your first time being in a school, but I can tell you it is very excited and you’ll learn a lot.” She encouraged with a smile, you noticed her voice was a higher pitch versus other people you met in the past. You whimpered and hid your face away from her. You wanted to burst into tears and run away, not to come back. “May I talk to her for a while?” Bucky asked.
The teacher agreed before your papa and you walked down the hall some to get privacy. You moved as Bucky nudged you from his leg and getting on his knees. “Why are we afraid?” He gently asked. You searched his eyes, oh how you wanted to cry. “I can’t,” you stated. He engulfed you in a hug, your tears finally escaped. You curled up into his soft fabric sweatshirt. “They’re going to think I’m weird.” You cried. “Shh, no they are not.” He said and ran a hand up and down your back. It took a few moments as he calmed you down to a normal level. “That’s better. That’s my big girl.” He whispered and dried some of your tears. “Are you ready now?” You nodded. You took a large breath like Bucky taught you. “Why is something scary?” He asked. “Because I’m about to do something really, really brave.” You replied before he kissed your forehead and you walked in the class.
You were and weren’t ready for school. In the morning, you were so mixed with emotions that you couldn’t even close your backpack correctly and threw it, not very far, only about three inches. “Hey, hey, let’s not being throwing stuff.” Pepper stated and walked over to you. Your frustration often lead to tears, which is what happened next. You tried to stop them, but the tears came anyways. Yes, Pepper was your mom, but you really wanted Tony to bring you to school today. It was your first day of kindergarten. Pepper could bring you any other day in the year, Tony should have the most important one. It wasn’t like he was across the world this time, he was in the garage. “Oh sweetie,” she cooed and put you on the counter, drying your tears. “What’s going on? I thought you wanted to go to school?” Pepper asked. Then, it took her a few seconds to figure out what was actually wrong. “You wanted Daddy to bring you, didn’t you?” You nodded, just like Tony, Pepper only needed a few seconds to figure out what was wrong. “I’m going to go talk to him.” Pepper stated and headed towards the garage.
Tony, about fifteen minutes later, appeared from the garage. “Ms. Stark, are you ready to go to school?” He smirked. Your eyes lit up and you quickly nodded. “Then, let’s get you going. I’m not going to miss your first day.” Tony smiled before driving you to school.
“Now remember, Tony stated, bending down to your height, “you are the smartest little girl. Do you know why?” He asked. You shook your head and shrugged your shoulder. “Because you are a Stark, and you are my daughter.” Tony answered and kissed your head. “Now go be that smart girl that I know you are.”
Be brave, be brave, be brave. You kept repeating in your head. You held your backpack tightly onto your back as you walked besides your father to the class. “You ready?” Steve asked as you stood and he crouched feet away from the doorway. You shyly nodded and looked cautiously at the door. “You’re going to make some great friends in there.” Steve said. You only shrugged and squirmed a bit, showing that you were nervous like any other kid.
“Hey,” Steve started, “I know you’re going to be great.” He smiled, his little girl now big enough to go to preschool. “Promise?” You questioned and took a step towards him. “I promise.” Steve stated and rested his forehead against yours. You shyly giggled before he kissed your forehead. “Now learn and have fun, I’ll be hear to pick you up later. Be my good little girl.” Steve told you. “Love you, Daddy,” you said and gave him a swift hug before heading to the classroom. “Love you to Y/n.”
