UK Underground Pro wrestling. Part 3
The underground pro wrestling circuit doesn’t advertise itself. No posters. No socials. No paper trail. If you know, you know—and if you don’t, you’re not meant to. Every show is invite-only, men-only, and deliberately temporary. One night it’s a back room behind a bar that smells like spilled beer and sweat. Another night it’s an empty office floor, lights half-working, unlocked just long enough for bodies to collide and then vanish before sunrise.
You can’t request entry. Someone who’s already been inside—five shows minimum—has to vouch for you. Even then, your name might sit on a list for months. Tickets aren’t cheap and never have been. Money keeps the crowd tight, familiar, controllable. Everyone there knows why they came.
The cards are planned, but never predictable. A lean junior match to warm the room. Sometimes Dad vs. Dad—thick bodies, heavy hands, no hurry. Tag teams grinding each other down. Heavyweights to close the night, all mass and pressure, the ring groaning under them. Nothing flashy. No theatrics. Just skin-on-skin contact, holds that linger, strikes that land harder than they’re supposed to. The kind of wrestling that would never survive daylight or regulation.
Some nights the whole card revolves around a single appetite: older against younger, all heavyweights, endless chain bouts, no escape. Every match is for top. No exceptions.
The crowd doesn’t cheer much. Men arrive quiet, watch closer than they should, then file out fast once it’s over. By morning the ring is gone, the room wiped clean, like nothing ever happened. Somewhere else, another door is already being unlocked for the next night.
I continue to enjoy the mcburly Tumblr site with the AI-generated clips of mature wrestlers copied directly from my childhood wrestleporn fantasies. These are the sort of Real Men who first made my eyes pop out of my head. Their meaty bodies, their muscles, their gorgeous trunks (or tights, or singlets) with just the right patterns and textures. His work is really a visual feast for wrestling fans of a certain age who get off on wrestlers of a certain age. How does he get the AI machine to depict the brawn and sexiness of vintage rasslin so perfectly?!
My only issue: his clips are too brief and fleeting. I need more time to visually inspect these AI simulations, to savor their mature physiques and digitally bespoke gear at a slower rate. I have this craving to pause on certain scenes and just goon out for a minute.
So I copied my favorite mcburly GIFs from his Tumblr and pasted them together in this 8-minute video. I used my video editing skills (such as they are) to linger on the little touches that remind me of my earliest pro wrestling triggers. And I can pause it when something catches my eye, making these scenes more jerkoffable.
