CHILLCITY [tropical house/acoustic/remix] What better way to celebrate the holidays than with a nice Bastille-themed tropical/deep house remix by Deep Chills? The acoustic guitar breakdown after the hook adds another level of depth to the song. Anybody up for some Christmas at the beach? Stay sandy, kids.
LOUNGIN' [rap] New Juicy J remix of WTF featuring Yung 2 and Joker B aka the rappers you've never heard of before. Not a bad song at all, if you're into facetious, mindless gangsta rap. You can't listen to this unless you're rollin', it should be a rule. This song is meant to blast out the back of your car speakers. The bass kick is on point. Get this shit fo' free in the corner. Stay trippy for life, kids.
ALTASTIC [alternative/rock] Siberian Front is a brand new band who just released their first EP for free on Soundcloud. Listening to the whole thing, they kind of remind me of The Strokes in their style of playing. In fact, the guitar's distortion is nearly identical to The Strokes, although the lead singer's voice is closer to Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day during their earlier stuff. I like what I'm listening to, though. Get it for free on Soundcloud. All of it. Stay influenced by the greats, kids.
CHILLCITY [electronic/remix] Wednesday are so busy for me that I tend to gravitate towards the more chilled side of music, hence the influx of some relaxed, melodic remixes of pop tracks. Coucheron is my favorite non-RAC, RAC-type artist. The guy can make a killer electronic remix of a song without forcing it into becoming a dance track. I'm appreciative of that ability, sometimes I just want to hear a reproduced version of the original without being bombarded with added percussion and bass. Stay nice and cozy this winter, kids.
ALTASTIC [rock/indie] I received this song in an email, and I was unsure of it because it isn't something I'd usually post. But after several listens, I decided I like the throwback to Beatles-era style music. This song is so joyful sounding, as is most of the other stuff by Heartbreak Time Machine. Hopefully this song helps to expand my fan base a bit more. Stay hungry for more, kids.
POPPIN' [alternative/electropop]
At this point, Tove Lo’s “Habits” is the reason Hippie Sabotage has left the world of underground music, and Hippie Sabotage is the reason Tove Lo has reached the top of the pop charts. What a perfect symbiotic relationship. Tove Lo is set to drop her album “Queen of the Clouds” September 30th. She’s teased us with several singles and an EP, now including "Moments", this lusty, electronically beefed R-rated single. She’s written for Icona Pop, appeared in songs with Alesso and Seven Lions, and inspired two hit remixes, the other being by Keys n Krates. She’s making a name for herself, that’s for sure. Let’s go, Tove Lo.
Stay sexy, kids.
