Commercial novelty crafts: "Origami" blades

These toys were widely produced by the Paper-Collins subsidiary of Haper-Collins in the early 21st century. While these were developed with a wide line of paper creations in mind, only these blades and a similar axe line were ever developed due to lack of commercial success. After the majority of the product produced was dumped into the desert in Arizona, these have become coveted collector's items, with prices beginning at $1500 USD.

Data-Blades first saw uses for transporting sentient AI’s as a symbolic reminder that damaging them beyond repair was considered murder, and that they should be defined with the wielder's life as the AI has entrusted its life to them. Now they have returned to a ceremonial role with the advent of FTL communication, however “silicon based life form”’s sometimes carry them as a contingency.

I should probably look at some real swords for inspiration, I think this is a more realistic not sure about a basket hilt for a “thrusting” sword. Im really struggling with perspective but i think this one worked ok. Practice makes perfect…

On the saya of my new set of nihonto. It essentially warns against violence.

Popped down the local secondhand shop and returned with a 2.5m flambard and a katana-wakizashi-tanto set. The flambard is strictly ornamental, but the nihonto look solid enough. The blades have been kept in excellent condition and, given the wear and tear on the saya, it looks like they've been used for practice.
