Cole, do you think you are ever capable of being loved or falling in love? Romantically?

“I…believe so, yes. I care deeply for my friends. Varric says that is a form of love. For romance? I’m not sure. Maybe.” He didn’t exactly go out looking for love. Cole had seen physical love in the Circle, and the few times he’d walked in on people on accident. He had witnessed the love between parent and child, and between one to another, an undying love and affection.

“I do not think that anyone would find me suitable for a…partner? I’m not…” He wasn’t easy to get along with and made others uncomfortable. Cole doubted he’d ever find love in another. No one could care for a man who was otherworldly and strange, not beyond care for someone who seems like a child to the world. “I’m just not. Whether I fall in love or not, it doesn’t matter if I do not receive love in return, right? Does that make it pointless? Should I ask Varric?“
