Sesshomaru smiled as Kohaku came up and hugged Sango, the demon doing the same to Rin.
“Did you two have fun,” Rin said, giggling quite a bit.
“We did... Rin? Is something the matter?”
“Nope! When’s the wedding,” the girl asked, still beaming and laughing a little.
“... We had not set a date yet.” Sesshomaru quirked an eyebrow, but assumed it was the ‘women’s intuition’ that Kagome had mentioned before.

The feast went well- all the guests on their best behaviours. The bride, groom, and Mae were not the type to let even a wayward glance slide. And the guests knew it and kept the information to heart.
Once all the guests had left the palace, Sesshomaru called his brother, Kagome, and Sango to a table to discuss the impending pregnancies and birth.
“We need to decide if we are returning to the village or remaining here in the castle,” Sesshomaru said.
“What’s this ‘we’. Kagome and I should go to her time. They have really advanced medicine there,” Inuyasha replied.
@tennoyuriii “Are ye seriously asking me this,” Kaede deadpanned, looking at Sesshomaru with both amusement and annoyance.
“I am. My mother believes marriages should be arranged. Sango... no longer has living relatives. You are the closest... I was hoping to come to an agree-”
“Did ye mother not tell ye what to do in the event you were courting someone with no parent?”
Sesshomaru was used to Kaede being blunt with him; she always had been when it came to the village and it’s inhabitants. Normally he found it amusing and slightly endearing. Today, the demon lord found himself a tad bit out of his depth. And surprisingly nervous.
“Mother... is unaware I am attempting to court a human woman. I do not think she’d approve and I’ve yet to see her since she killed Rin. Nor do I wish to see her...”
Sango would find Rin crouched nearby, beaming ear to ear as she eavesdropped on Sesshomaru and Kaede’s conversation. She saw the demon slayer and waved her over and then put her finger to her lips. “Lord Sesshomaru is being silly kind of,” she whispered, “And it’s funny to see Granny Kaede scold him.”

After a long night of drinking and a day of ensuring the villagers were settled and that Ungai wouldn’t die, Sesshomaru gathered his family and Sango to go to the demon slayer village- Ina and the outspoken monk deciding to join.
“Ready to be on our way, Sango,” Sesshomaru asked.

It was a week before the feast with the nobles. Rin, Kohaku, and Soten had been getting along well. Inuyasha and Kagome were happily enjoying their time at the palace with Tsuki and Miroku.
Sesshomaru, meanwhile, had been busier than ever. Rooms needed to be readied. Food was coming in and starting to be prepared. Guests would start arriving in a day or two. Servants were bringing problems in left and right.
Sango’s handmaiden was in the Lord and Lady’s room, humming happily as she prepared some of Sango’s kimonos. “Oh my Lady this week is going to be amazing! Music, feasting, dancing!”

Sesshomaru loaded all the items they’d need onto the cart that was now hitched to A-Un. He made sure there was enough space for all of the children before looking to Soten.
“You do not have to come if you do not wish,” the great demon said, “But I would like to extend the offer for you to come and stay with the family. Be it merely so you can gain strength or to join our family. The decision is yours. But you need not stay alone in your castle. ... If you wish, I can even send an imp to collect the family paintings so that your family is still with you in spirit, Soten.”

Sesshomaru heard the bang against the flat door and he rushed over to open it. “Sango?!” He lifted the cat into his arms. “You were gone for a lot longer than I expected... Let me care for you. What do you need?”

Sesshomaru sat beside his wife, holding onto Mae. The twins had just finished eating and the dog demon was going to enjoy the quiet moment for now. Still, even when they were noisy, he couldn’t help but love his children.
Rin sat beside him, wiggling her fingers and cooing over her baby brother while Kohaku sat beside his older sister. “Mom. Dad. They’re soooo cute!!”
