What is your opinion on Daiyakure? If you like the ship, do you have any headcannons?

i think daiyakure is very neat!! i

know this is gonna sound strange, because i feel like a lot of people found my blog through my ishimondo-posting, but i'm not a very big shipper. i just get very hyperfixated on one or two ships and leave everything else in the dust, so my opinions on a lot of ships aren't very strong. they mainly range from "i just think it's neat" to "it's not my cup of tea."

still, even with all that, daiyakure is pretty good! i'm hesitant to ship yasuhiro with a lot of characters, but daiya is definitely one of the exceptions, considering there's a lot of blank space to work with, and it's funny to think about mondo's dynamic with yasuhiro in this scenario. chill, retired ex-biker gang leader getting to finally be an adult and his whimsical, neurotic fortune-teller boyfriend who finally gets to hang out with another adult. can you guess which one has a bounty on their head?

one headcanon i have about them is that they know each other's very specific brand of anxiety, so they can help calm each other down with ease.

daiya lets yasuhiro vent out all of his thoughts and worries, gently talking him through all of them instant of the blatant dismissal everyone else gives him. if it's one of his superstitious worries about cryptids, ghosts, or aliens, he'll poke holes in hiro's logic in a way that doesn't come across as aggressive or argumentative, but as caring and with genuine effort. if it's about a certain vision or any general anxieties about the future, daiya will go over all the ways they can overcome and get through a scenario like that. daiya's a planner and quick-thinker, so that part always comes very naturally to him.

daiya isn't as much of a talker when he gets anxious, so hiro doesn't try to force him to talk about anything if he doesn't feel up to it. hiro instead tries to calm him down through his senses. he dims the lights and plays calming music, occasionally accompanied by other calming sounds like rainfall. he lights some incense, brews some calming tea, and usually orders some comfort food to eat later. the biggest thing is touch. i think daiya, much like his little brother, is really big on physical touch, and yasuhiro knows this. he runs his hands through daiya's hair and rubs the tension out of his back. he holds and squeezes his hands and at times just holds him if daiya is feeling up to it. they eventually get to a point where daiya calms down enough to speak about what's been troubling him, and they work it out from there.

i havent properly posted much in the danganronpa side of the fandom but i think itd be nice if daiya was child free. i could elaborate but ehhh i dont wanna. i think daiyakure should be those childfree uncles who take their niblings out and have fun but are happy with just some cats baby wise.
