Just saw a 37 year old post like a 14 year old who learned how to speak up in history class that if you make a fic with characters even slightly derailed from canon “you might as well make an OC.”
This is why fandom is dying. No one leaves comments on anything unless it’s this bullshit about how “that doesn’t happen in canon-“ and “they’d never do that in-“ as if FAN fiction isn’t just about having fun and showing people what you’ve made.
If you love canon so much that you look down on other people for simply having fun, and using the narrative tools like those characters to tell another story, you shouldn’t be in fandom fucking period. You aren’t morally superior for liking canon more. You aren’t holier than thou because you hate fun, hate change, and can’t stand the idea that something isn’t made with you in mind.
Wont post a heart or a comment to show a creator support and love but suddenly there’s energy to tell a creator that making anything not canon compliant is “icky”??? Won’t interact or share but you’ll spew hatred and condescension with ease when you CAN be fucked to comment?
Fuck it. What’s the point anymore. If the only interactions people get is bullshit like that? Fandom deserves to die.
