An anon on 40kg did a good analysis of why 40k Orks have endured and resonated with audiences so well, especially compared to other "orc" variants.

Love this but it bugs me that that Dakka is being used incorrectly here.
Dakka is the word for ranged firearms in general (because that’s the sound they make - dakka dakka dakka).
Something that is “more loudly” than a slugga (the one-handed pistol-style guns) would be a shoota (the two-handed assault weapons).
