Cheol knows. He might be all smiles with her, however he does know. He knows how she feels about him, and how he cannot expect for her to fall for him, considering the circumstances of their marriage. He is no stranger to trying as well, learning how to play calming music perfectly, his hands cramping from practice. He wanted her to be happy, so he observed and noted down things she loved. Somehow, it came to a point his goal was to attempt to make her smile, or laugh whenever they meet.
Thus, we come down to today, a year since they have been married. He stood in the garden, lighting small lanterns that illuminate the path to him. His palms were sweaty, knees weak, considering what he was attempting to do.
Tonight, he’d admit his feelings for her. How he wished for her smile to be because of him, not his acts, not his antics but because he is beside her. That he grew greedy, that her happiness does not satisfy him anymore. He wishes for her heart.
Tonight, he’d not stand in front of her as her husband, or prince. Tonight, he’d be just a guy who fell for a girl, hoping she’d accept his feelings.
He hopes.
He wishes.
