Animals hold a contract w Nature. The Animal experiences all things for which Nature provides: nourishment, safety, and, in the fine print, the right to expire. When taking animals as pets, we benefit so greatly from the gifts and joy they give us. In return, we take on Nature's obligations. In our care, we have more tools than Nature to prolong the final obligation.... but not to avoid it. Granny entrusted #MissKitty to me 10 years ago.
