Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

I’m gonna gush about one of my favorite webcomics: El Goonish Shive.

It’s been running mostly continuously since 2002. It has aliens, magic, shapeshifters, griffons, alternate universes, secret government organizations, and video rental stores still open in the 2020s. But besides all those fantastic premises, it also has had some of the most honest and thoughtful explorations of homosexuality, transgenderism, and gender fluidity I’ve seen in any webcomic.

If you want to start from the beginning, know that it wasn’t always this progressive. The author began when he was 16 and… well… it shows. But get through all that and you’ll find someone who has grown and matured into a quite well-read person.
