This bbc thing is about that reporter asking intrusive questions to louis and he got on twitter war with them.. then he got blocked for this long.. am i getting it right,??? Sorry i was not here then just trying to catch up.. English is not my first language, excuse me !!
I think you are referring to Louis’ interview on BBC’s The Breakfast Show in 2020, while promoting Walls.
Hosts Dan Walker and Louise Minchin repeatedly asked Louis some questions about his family tragedies and 1D reunion. Louis responded, “You've ticked them all now, trauma, Zayn, the album, and now this".
Louis tweeted this as soon as he left the TV studio:
BBC Television actually doesn’t have much sway on programming for BBC Radio. The head of BBC Radio 1, which hosts the Live Lounge, is Aled Haydn Jones.
Louis’ music has not been on playlists on any of the BBC Radio channels (Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 6), since 2020. In 2017-18, if I remember correctly, Back to You was briefly on Radio 1 playlists for a few weeks. Radio 1 is mainstream pop, Radio 2 Adult Contemporary, Radio 6 Indie, roughly speaking.
Compared to his ex-bandmates, all have been featured on Live Lounge except Zayn (I think).
Harry: 2017, 2019, 2022
Niall: 2017, 2019, 2023
Liam: 2018, 2019
All but Louis have been on BBC Radio playlists multiple times since 2019, including Zayn.
Being featured on BBC’s official playlists means that songs are played in rotation, at least several times per day, and better playlists are played at better times of day (e.g. commuting hours, midday).
Louis’ Faith In The Future was featured as the “album of the week” at BBC Radio 1 in December 2023. His songs were played a total of 14 times in 7 days, all between 12 midnight and 6 AM. After that week, the songs were never on Radio 1 again.
For FITF, Louis had actually done promo on BBC Radio which was enormously popular. Here’s his segment as the “secret celebrity.”
Despite getting a UK no. 1 album, Louis’ efforts didn’t lead to either radio playlisting or a good album promo interview from the BBC. Foreboding headline, isn’t it?
