The SUN Awards 26 was an exhibition at The Leeds Gallery showcasing commercial photography in the UK regions with a range of advertising, design, fashion and editorial running from November 2014 – January 2015. SUN is run as a not-for-profit event by photographers for the mutual benefit of the industry, and the awards are judged anonymously by an independent panel of key figures in Photography. The small and intimate art space at Munro House was perfect at showcasing the work within the exhibition allowing you to get engaged and involved with the journey and stories behind each image. The relaxed and laid back atmosphere was warm and welcoming to the viewer with soft seating areas allowed us to take time reviewing and engaging with the specific works of photography. The white open space was great for mingling around work and setting each individual piece of work from its surroundings, I believe the layout of the art space had a lot to offer in terms of showcasing the work at its best. These four images show the work of winner and runners up of the contest with the winner image by Dan Aziz followed by Phillip Thornton, Andy Gallagher and John Donoghue all in which bring different stories and meanings to the contest. The Gallery at Munro House has hosted the SUN Awards exhibition since 2012 celebrating the third year in 2015.
