- lowkey really obsessed with you. like hes never had anyone so openly love him like this. so it kind of reduces him to gibberish when you kiss him on the cheek

- hes always pointing you out to people who come into the bar bc hes so dumbstruck that you’re actually his and he wants to tell everyone

- sometimes when the gang is sitting in a booth and you scooch in next to him and interlock your hands, he just goes blank for a couple minutes until he comes back to reality

- one time he actually offered you his jacket and you kissed him on the nose in gratitude. he didn’t stop grinning until mac tried to tackle him for “looking dumb as hell”

- im sooo picturing lots of times where you’re holding his hand and he just can’t stop glancing over to look at you because hes so amazed

- initially pretend he hates it. hes always pulling his hand away or swerving away from a kiss while mumbling “pda is gross”

- but one time when you guys are sitting at the bar, you catch him off guard with a kiss on the shoulder. he spins his chair away with an annoyed noise but you can see his cheeks go bright red

- he’s bartending one night and gives you a drink and you go “thanks handsome” and he has to fumble to not drop the bottle he’s holding. you pretend like you weren’t looking to save him the embarrassment

- one of the first times he initiates is when you guys are sitting in a booth with the gang, and he nudges ur hand under the table. when you go to move it away, he interlocks your pinkies and shoots you a quick smile

- you come into the bar one night after an awful day at work and make a beeline for him. he opens his mouth to say something rude but stops short when you wrap your arms around him. he looks around to make sure no one’s watching and surrenders, putting his arms around your shoulders and mumbling his best attempts at encouragement

Ice skating!! The gang finds out that Dee sometimes ice skates at an indoor rink on the weekends, and of course they feel the need to crash her party.

- You’re there with your friends, no professional skater, but not falling over either.

- Until a short man in a green jacket speeds straight into you, arms flailing. You try to grab the wall, he tries to grab your arm, and you both hit the floor. He immediately scrambles back up onto the wall, offering you an unsteady hand, “Oh shit, I’m really sorry, me and my buddy are trying to see if I can do a kick-flip on skates and he pushed me to get more speed and-“

- He fumbles through an apology and pulls you up, checking your elbows and hands for scrapes. Despite your insistence that you’re fine, he insists on offering you his arm for the rest of the lap. He’s less steady than you are, but you appreciate the effort.

- When you get off the ice, he gestures for you to sit at one of the tables.

- “Just give me- hold on-“ He starts to back away, stumbling over his explanation. “I’ll be right- don’t move!”

- He trips as he turns away, running over to the snack bar. You watch him pull handfuls of change out of his jacket pocket before a blond lady rolls her eyes and shoves him a five dollar bill.

- When he returns, it’s with a hot chocolate and a deep blush that you assume is from the cold. He runs a hand through his hair, foot tapping the ground restlessly.

- “Would you- sorry that’s stupid never mind.” You let out another laugh, “Go ahead, I wanna hear.”

- He makes a face, groaning slightly, “I think we should leave. Like to somewhere with food…or drinks. To go eat.” He looks almost scared, fidgeting with his sleeves.

- When you nod with a slight smile, he practically jumps out of his seat, grabbing your arm and almost knocking you over. He yanks his jacket off, throws it over your shoulders, and starts talking endlessly about an irish bar he knows.

Dennis

- Religiously intent on pretending like he hates it, even though literally everyone knows he doesn’t.

- Gets really good at telling when you’re feeling especially anxious, just from your tone or your body language. He’ll shoot Charlie a look and Charlie will come up a nonsensical reason that you guys have to leave.

- “I can hear the rats breeding and we have to cut this off at the source. Be back in a sec!”

- Whenever you guys sit next to each other in a booth and he can feel your fingers tapping nervously, he puts his foot next to yours, and interlocks your guys’ pinkies.

- When he has to run an errand during the work day, he’s always careful to ask if you want to come. It ends up adding an hour onto the errand, because you guys always end up wanting food and drinks.

Charlie

- Openly loves it and has been known to try to actually bite people who make fun of him for it.

- He’s a lover of good morning and good night texts. You introduced him to the concept and it doesn’t matter if you guys are in the same bed, he’ll still send one. He also wakes up at noon but will still send a good morning text.

- Biggest piggyback enjoyer in the world. Anytime you seem even a little drained, he’s already trying to convince you to let him give you a piggyback ride.

- ‘Bought’ you a shitty matching necklace that you’re pretty sure he made out of bottle-caps, but you love it more than anything.

- Gets really giddy and honored when you want to be close to him, and takes his ‘responsibility’ way too seriously, despite your insistence you just want to hang out. He’ll refuse to do anything else when you want to be near him, which includes his job, to Frank’s annoyance.

Dennis + Charlie

- On days where you all stay home, you can’t get them to leave the bed. You tease them for being even clingier than you are, but they just pull you back under the covers when you try to go make coffee.

- When you’re feeling specifically anxious about an outing or event, they’re always ready to brainstorm ways to make it better, writing it on a stupid whiteboard at Charlie’s place. The ideas range from just not going to calling in a b//mb threat to get the event rescheduled.

- Out in public, you’re usually the first to hold their hands or link arms, but then they refuse to let go.

- He’s so penguin-coded tbh, he’s always bringing you little rocks and figurines he finds outside. He always keeps some in his coat pockets just in case you get bummed. Slowly but surely your room is filling up with little knicknacks that he’s brought you over time.

- One night when everything is just too much and you burst into tears while sitting on the floor of Paddy’s, he just sits with you and puts his green jacket over your shoulders. He clearly doesn’t know exactly what to say but he bumps his head into yours like a friendly cat.

- His favorite thing in the world is when he can convince you to sit at the bar while they’re open. So you can work on your laptop or read a book while the gang serves drinks. It’s a good way for you to get out of the house when you’re feeling down, and he just loves getting you see everytime he looks up.

- He’s also such a physical touch guy. It took him a while to get comfortable and trust that you actually want him around, but now he’s all in. He runs up behind you and grabs your waist, twirls you around when he’s done mopping the bar, pretends he’s a prince so he can kiss your hand dramatically, absentmindedly tries to braid your hair but usually just ends up tangling it.

- When you’re upset, his go-to method is to make you laugh. He’ll pull out all the stops, trying and failing to do gymnastics, performing musical numbers for hours on end, coming out in increasingly ridiculous costumes. He won’t give up until you’re bent over laughing.

- One day when you woke up feeling awful, Charlie promised he could help and then disappeared to the kitchen for a suspiciously long time. When he returned, there was a plume of smoke following him, his hair was charred, and he was holding a plate of what you guessed was an omelette. You gently suggested you guys go out for breakfast and he readily agreed.

anything for y’all!!! (this is unfathomably late my life was upturned but im BACK)

i LOVE how much y’all love this greasy little guy!!! anyway i was recently thinking ab the potential of hanging in paddy’s while they’re open so that’s the vibe of this one ;)

- you’re in there to do some schoolwork or art, and you’ve taken to just sitting in the booth in the corner while the gang “works”

- on slow days, charlie just sits with you and pretends to understand whatever it is you’re doing. he’ll nod as you explain it but you can see he’s not comprehending a single word. its endearing that he tries though

- on busier night, he still tries to just sit around with you but the gang inevitably comes to drag him away <//3

- one night it was packed when you came in, and your normal booth was completely full. you went to just head out and work at home but charlie spotted you and jumped the counter to come say hi before you could sneak away. dennis shouted after him but he ignored him to pick you up and spin you around with a surprising burst of coordination.

- after you explain why you were gonna go home, it takes all your pleading to stop him from going over to the group in your booth and kicking them out. he pouts and complains under his breath but eventually succumbs to your wishes (like he always does).

monopoly with the gang (its always sunny in philadelphia)

- mac suggests the gane after charlie finds it stowed away in one of the cupboards. it takes some pleading but everyone reluctantly agrees to play. mostly because they have nothing better to do.

- as dee is setting up the board, the boys disappear for a minute and return wearing full suits.

- two minutes into the game, everyone remembers that charlie can barely count, let alone handle money. he’s having a good time though, so everyone lets it slide. charlie is also swallowing everyone else’s houses when they look away.

- dennis immediately breaks all allyship and friendship by lying straight to everyones faces, hiding his money, and verbally berating everyone until they surrender to his terms.

- dee is playing by the rules and is actually really good at monopoly. but it turns out frank is taking money from the bank and stuffing it into her piles when she’s not paying attention.

- without fail, everytime someone has to pay mac, he punches the air and goes “BOOYAH” completely unironically. the fourteenth time he does it, charlie lunges across the board to attack him.

- over the course of the game, there’s seven physical skirmishes, twelve real life bribes, six drink breaks where they just take shots, and one genuine poisoning attempt. the poisoning attempt only fails because charlie has built up an immunity to ingesting all cleaning products.

- dee wins and dennis goes dead silent before flipping the board and throwing houses and pieces at her. mac excuses himself to cry for a moment. charlie chokes on an apartment and frank has to do the heimlich manuever.

- it’s one of their fondest memories

- charlie skips rocks on any available body of water. hes not very good at it so usually it just means throwing rocks.. but sometimes it skips once or twice and it makes it all worth it

- went as pigpen from the peanuts one year for halloween

- for mothers day, charlie tries to spend the whole day doing things in threes with his mom and never leaving her sight. just trying to give her a break from her anxiety.

- the only thing charlie can reliably ‘cook’ is rice krispie treats. hes made them with lucky charms, fruity pebbles, cinnamon toast crunch, etc

- he sings in the shower

- dee once bought him a year long subscription to “hooked on phonics” and he actually tried to do the assignments and stuff

- unironically has discord. he only has one server and hes the only person in it. he mostly uses it for musical writing purposes..

- mac made him a friendship bracelet when they were like eight and he’s kept hold of it since. he tried to make mac one but hes no good with knot-tying

I recently started iasip and i’m so sad there’s no good charlie x reader stories! so i was wondering if you could do a charlie kelly x reader x nick miller bc they would be so funny together as they like fight for the reader’s attention. maybe like schmitt and nick go to patty’s pub to help the reader hit on men(charlieeee) and maybe nick gets jelly. you can choose who the reader ends up w but i thought it’d be a cute idea!

- schmidt and nick drag you out to paddys, insisting that you need to get out there and have fun

- its a pretty busy night and charlie is almost single-handedly working the bar while the rest of the staff is seemingly having an argument off to the side

- nick points him out, “what about him?” you look for a moment, hes scruffy and panicked but there’s something about him that’s intriguing so you nod, “yeah i like him.” nick does a double take, “okay so- wait what? you like him?” you shrug, “sure” and nick looks affronted, “really?? the bartender with the weird facial hair? he looks like he can barely read.”

- schmidt butts in, “careful nicholas, you’re basically insulting yourself.” nick shoots him a glare and then turns back to you, “fine, whatever. him.”

- a bit later, you guys managed to find some seats at the bar. charlie immediately appears in front of you, speaking so quickly its almost al one word “hi-welcome-to-paddys-pub-what-can-i-get-you?” you pause for a moment and nick steps in, “hey dude, you seem understaffed.”

- charlie spins around to see his coworkers still shouting about something in the back, and turns back to nick, “yeah, do you want a drink?”

- you shove nick lightly, “offer to help him!” nick makes a digusted look, “it’s my night off, you want me to work at a bar that’s not even mine??” you only need to look at him for a moment for him to surrender to your wishes. he turns to charlie, gritting his teeth, “hey man, im a bartender downtown. want some help?”

- charlie grins and it admittedly doesnmake you blush slightly, “seriously dude?? that would be so awesome!!” nick flashes you a tight smile and stands on his chair to hop over the bar in a way that makes your pink cheeks flush darker.

- the next couple minutes are charlie running nick through where everything is and explaining that the health codes are more of a suggestion at this bar. nick just nods and pretends he already knew everything.

- the two of them share a quick fist bump and split up. despite nick being new, he falls into the rhythm pretty quickly and gets confident even quicker. charlie flashes you a smile and sets a cocktail of some sort in front of you, “thanks for the new bartender dude, this one’s on me!” he winks and despite being called dude, it feels like he could’ve been flirting

- before you can even process that, nick hollers your name from the far end of the bar, you turn just in time to see him toss a glass in the air and catch it with a wink in your direction

- the rest of the night consists of the two boys showing off in various more extravagant ways, always making sure to either wink or shoot you with finger guns. schmidt isn’t shy, he keeps leaning over to tell you for the 20th time that they’re flirting with you. on number 21 you swat him on the shoulder, “knock it off!! i’m having fun, just enjoy the view why don’t you!”

- as the night winds down, the crowd wittles down to you and just a couple other people. nick makes his way over, leaning over the bar to talk to you, “finally, i feel like i’ve barely said anything to you tonight.” charlie walks up and leans against the bar, right next to nick, but only looking at you, “thank you guys, really a lifesaver.”

- nick punches him lightly in the shoulder, jaw clenched slightly, “anytime man, pleasure working with you. i really should be getting her home though.” charlie flashes you a lopsided grin, “are you sure? you could stick around here, i should be off soon and i can take you home.” you rest your elbows on your side of the bar, chin in your hands and a smile on your face, “we could all stay a little longer?”

- both boys immediately nod in reluctant agreement, tossing a towel over their shoulders in sync
