It had been a while since she’d been on the West Coast, her work keeping her mostly nomadic. However, she had heard rumors through her networks that data from the Life Foundation and its symbiote program had found its way into a particularly nasty set of hands. Kingpin mainly worked out of New York but with his funds he was easily able to fly wherever he needed to in order to see the progress. And keeping it out of New York would keep more meddlesome heroes from finding out before it was ready to be released.
The rumors and any real evidence to back up the claims were subpar at best but having seen the program herself she knew she couldn’t rest until she was certain. As luck would have it, she was able to get in with some of Kingpin’s newest recruits for a special project. Claiming to have been security with the project before she was able to get in deeper and learn that the rumors were, in fact, true and far worse than she could have imagined.
Faye gathered as much information as she possibly could prior to reaching out to Eddie Brock. He’d been an investigative reporter looking into the Foundation just before its collapse. So, she assumed he had something to do with it and if true then she was willing to bet he’d be willing to take it down again. She had reached out for a meeting but hadn’t told him when or where. In truth, she was becoming paranoid about giving out too much information.
Having arrived at his apartment, she glanced up and down the hall, listening to the subtle noises of his neighbors before turning back to the door. Her knuckles rapped on the door loudly before she waited for it to open. When it eventually did she offered a large toothy grin.
“Hey. Eddie. Sorry for coming unannounced but I brought food,” she held up the large bags of Chinese takeout she had ordered as an apologetic gift. Who didn’t enjoy being brought dinner? “I did say we needed to meet but due to the circumstances I rather not give more details over tech than necessary. Mind if I come in?”
