ok so before i knew anything about mcr i watched the SING music video because i really liked the song. so without any context other than knowing it was on their last album and they broke up let me (poorly) explain to you what i thought it was about. (i'm still not sure if i have full context now but this is where i am/ was at)
it's both a good-bye, and a metaphor about how the young people are the future. let's say the members of mcr are the older generation and the girl is the younger generation, quite literally. the video starts with the fab 4 going to save the girl from BL/ind and the end they sacrifice themselves to save the girl, we all know that. and the last (what i consider proper) sentence is "Girl you've got to be what tomorrow needs". meaning you have to step up and be the future. and the whole song is about standing up to fight for what you believe in. i think it's a call specifically to young people (most of their fanbase) and i thought their thought process was something along the lines of 'we've had our fun/ done what we could, now it's up to you'. this thought only really came up after watching the video and having the lyrics coincide with it.
