Studio Visit: Daniel Moyer
McKibbin Street in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighborhood is mostly known for the "McKibbin dorms," a rambling collection of thin-walled lofts filled with post-college artist types. But across the street, in a recently-renovated rope factory now known as the Greenpoint Manufacturing and Design Center, you'll find Daniel Moyer's studio. Daniel has been crafting wood pieces for decades now; he's a born-and-bred New Yorker that revels in what he calls his "reverse commute" from Manhattan's East Village.
The video above is a slice of Daniel's process, from traveling to Amish Country in Pennsylvania to source wood to combining stripes of contrasting pieces to create the unique patterns found in his designs. His "I Would Do Backsprings 4 You" chair and "Honest I Would" table are modern masterpieces from a thoughtful designer—the kind of very special pieces we are truly excited to bring to our audience. Daniel's pieces are on sale here. Scroll below for another look at his beautiful (and big!) studio—we visited him last week.

These slabs of wood take up to three years to dry before Daniel can work with them.
His studio is warm and welcoming, as well as highly efficient.
There's Daniel, and yes, he's drinking prosecco.
