Mistigram: midway between Blippypixel's flying-car traffic jam and his own kaleidoscopic suite shared last night, here's a little #Lego block dance ("Kalegoscope") of hypnotic and entrancing patterns by @daniellonglegs, released last month in the MIST1118 artpack collection.
Mistigram: two years ago, our MIST1116 call for submissions among creative friends yielded literally dozens and dozens of kaleidoscopic still images from Daniel Wickert. Impressive as they were individually, we felt, flipping through them, that they managed to be both more impressive still AND truer to their kaleidoscopic essence taken as a set, lightly curated for suggested motion. Strap yourselves in!
Mistigram: over the past few months Daniel Wickert has re-emerged on to our radar, taking his fabulously de- (or is that re-?) contextualizing kaleidoscopic technique and applying it to one of the most ANSI-like of subjects, giant blocks of #Lego (actually Duplo in this case, I believe). He provided several takes on the matter before moving along to further blocky adventures, but we bundled them up as a GIF animation for your enjoyment in this month's MIST0618 artpack collection.

Today on Mistigram, another kaleidoscopic image by @daniellonglegs - we felt it resembled a molecular close-up of silicon, but only the artist knows for sure. This image was released in the recent MIST0217 artpack collection, as part of a short suite of the artist's characteristic reflected images that we felt might fit in on the front cover of an issue of Wired magazine. Today on Mistigram, @daniellonglegs made this kaleidoscopic image of sea anemones as part of a batch of hundreds (!) of similar images, a subset of which were animated together in MIST1116 - due to a certain Lovecraftian quality to this one, however, with its inhuman angles and non-Euclidian geometries, it was folded early into the MIST1016 collection of eerie Halloween art. http://ift.tt/2j9Qubl
