Randal “Randy” Boggs has shifty eyes, a large row of sharp teeth and a long, thin, snakelike body. Where the other monsters in the film are friendly towards each other and kind, he is petty, mean spirited and cruel. He takes his job as professional scarer so seriously that he starts doing after hours work kidnapping children with the desire to use a new machine to suck the scream out of them for his boss, Mr. Waternoose, who is trying extreme and controversial methods for the greater good. Somehow he manages to stick out as a monster within a bunch of monsters.
