History: Daphne’s magic manifested when she was a young child, and found it to be largely uncontrollable whenever she experienced strong emotions. This resulted in a number of ‘unexplainable’ accidents that she had no way to reverse on her own, that would have been no trouble to correct had she not grown up in a world almost entirely without magic. Because of her magical accidents, she was forced to move multiple times while she was growing up which caused her parents to grow cold and strict towards her because of their fear and hatred of her powers. This has resulted in her isolating herself which generates constant rumours, and by the time she passes through the Mirror of Darkness, Daphne has become a polite but distant figure that had resigned herself to a life without love or friendship out of fear she might accidentally hurt someone again. So, ironically, Night Raven College has become her beacon of hope – not only to gain the power and control to fix her mistakes, but also to fulfill her longings for companionship and acceptance that she holds deep in her heart.
Personality: Daphne by nature is a very social person, but her accidents over the years have caused her to isolate herself from everyone and anyone she came across, physically and emotionally. She craves companionship and a sense of belonging more than anything else, so it’s been really hard for her to constantly move and not make any lasting relationships, and her parents certainly haven’t helped that. Because of the loneliness she endured before passing through the mirror and her natural compassion and surprizing emotional resilience, she’s the type to be the first to sit with someone who is eating by themselves or strike up a conversation with someone about their interests even if she knows nothing about the subject. (If they look open to talking, that is, and look like they could use a friend.) Daphne doesn’t want others to feel lonely like she did, which is why she gets pissed off when Malleus (or anyone) gets deliberately excluded from things.
Though, for all her amiability and willingness to be helpful and like, some might get it into their heads otherwise, but she is not a pushover. She has clear boundaries that she will absolutely not compromise (the same can be said for her values.) Daphne knows her limits and will not do absolutely anything for the sake of being liked. In fact, just like people being excluded makes her angry, people being bullied or coerced into things incenses her too. This might be something she butts heads with Azul over especially. Or would if it wasn’t written into her contract for her to not negatively interfere with his other contracts. (This surprisingly leaves room for loopholes and damn it if she doesn’t take advantage. This has awoken the schemer in her that never knew she had before. Funnily enough it’s Malleus that she ropes into her plans the most, because she ‘might as well be open with him about what she’s doing, so her actions don’t come back to [potentially] bite the entire dorm in the ass.’)
In any case, she is likeable, but not because she’s charming because of honeyed words or a silver tongue, but because she is earnest and (generally) doesn’t hide what she thinks of people. And while she is afraid of rejection at any level, she doesn’t let it stop her from giving affection or show her vulnerability when it matters most, or when she knows that only she can move things forward by taking the first step. Also, Daphne is extremely loyal and would die for those she cares for; and in the right circumstances, she might even kill for them. This is a huge deal since she will do all she can to avoid bloodshed and take the peaceful approach, and when it comes to a fight always does so non-lethally. But if she loves you, and there’s no other way to save you from death, it is a line she would cross. Another thing to know that because of her isolation it is very hard for her to accept praise, compliments or gifts of any sort without at least being flustered or in flat out denial. Especially at first, because she believes she herself does not deserve them after all of the hurt she has caused.
Character Inspiration: The majority of her powers are based on that of the three good fairies (Flora, Fauna and Merryweather) from Sleeping Beauty (with things like minimization and flight with wings taken away since she’s not a full fairy), but other than that she’s her own person that happens to have unusually strong recessive fae blood for a human.

Malleus Draconia – Well, the first time they meet is what we have as the Diasomnia dorm introduction, and unlike the introduction, she’s not afraid. If anything, she’s in awe. (Yes I know they aren’t technically canon but it makes sense that all the dorm would have parties for their new members after the sorting, so there.) When she finds out that he was not invited to the new student orientation party like the other dorm leaders were, she gets supremely incensed on his behalf. He gets a pleasant surprise there, and further when she reaches out her hand to him in friendship and lets him decide what he wants to do – go to the party with her and damn the consequences, because she wants him there; or he can take her away from the party to wherever he would like to go, because either way she would like to get to know him better. And be friends with him if at all possible, and he’s just so caught off guard that he goes along with it. She keeps surprising him in this way, by being unafraid of him and being kind to him without any ulterior motives. Greeting him, chatting with him in the common room or his student council office, or just anytime they’re not in classes. Inviting him out with everyone when she goes into town with them, or to meals, and carefully observing and making note of the things that he likes. Baking treats just for him and bringing them back from the Heartslabyul dorm. Honestly, she’s the first person besides Lilia who treats him like a person rather than someone to be feared or revered. (Or envied.) When she asks for his help training her magic he is intrigued but concerned; warning her that people fear him for a good reason, as his magical power is unmatched and that he’d have to hold back while they practice. This is heightened when she responds that that’s perfect, so he comments for her to not hold back against him. After sparring for the first time, he asks her why she wants to practice with him and she tells him that it’s because she doesn’t have to worry about hurting him since he’s so much more powerful than she is. So the full truth doesn’t come out right away, but when it does it will be a moment and they will hug. Because the reason that she wasn’t afraid of him was because all along, all this time, there is nothing and no one else she fears more than herself. It overwhelms him, because here is further proof that there is someone who cares so much, that he didn’t think was possible. (But of course, as we know, her fear of herself and hurting others is not the only reason why she is unaffected by his aura, and is not afraid of him.) Anyway, they have so many cute, or tender and romantic moments together that I am going to keep to myself because I want to write snippets about them at some point. In any case, they both think of the other as the person who saved them, and they are just both so starved for love and affection and are so soft I cry. That’s that on that. They are a sweet friends-to-lovers ship.
Lilia Vanrouge – He is very intrigued by the fact that she is unaffected by Malleus’s aura, though hides his deeper curiousity behind a composed but playful demeanor as easily as breathing. He is quite happy to play the long game even if that means probing for information in a roundabout way, for a long time, if it’s for the sake of Malleus’s safety. After all, what someone says or doesn’t say both speak volumes about a person either way, whether they intend it to or not. He eventually puts the pieces together on why exactly that is, but when he does, he keeps it to himself. And when he figures out that Malleus and Daphne have feelings for each other, he definitely meddles. And teases. And eventually she makes it onto the very short list of people that can consider themselves under his protection. He even jokes one day that since he helped raise Malleus, that means that they’re going to be in-laws one day and so she can call him Papa. To which she responds ‘respectfully, I must decline.’ Again, Daphne is more observant that most (initially) give her credit for, she quickly picks up on the fact that most people in the dorm treat him very respectfully, even moreso than Malleus. Also with little things like comments made by Lilia himself here and there, or his mannerisms and way of speaking. So it doesn’t come as a surprise to her when Silver finally confirms her suspicions. Daphne’s not really sure what to make of Lilia on the whole, though they do eventually start to get along deeper than the initial surface-level pleasantries. She appreciates how much he loves Malleus like his own, and is also very amused by the fact that only some people can get away with making comments about his age or appearance. And the fact that sometimes he’ll pull the age and appearance cards himself, when it suits him. (He doesn’t insist that everyone should call him Papa or let them make old man/grandpa jokes or comments after all.) Also he flaunts his age to people when it suits him by making comments like ‘I’m older than you so I know better/I said so’ or to get old or young person privileges when he can. He plays the system is what I’m saying. He deeply appreciates the positive influence she has on Silver and Sebek, and the profound effect she has on Malleus not only with her affections, but how she can get the world around them to accept him as a person.
Silver – Silver is the person she starts out the closest to, sort of by default since they’re in the same year and dorm. They also share classes together and always do their group projects together for the sake of convenience. Unlike Sebek, Silver does not make a snap judgment on Daphne, preferring to form his own opinion first hand. Malleus’s good opinion of her does help though. Of course, his top priority is guarding his lord but he doesn’t sense danger or ill intent from her so she’s fine in his book. Plus she makes the effort to keep up with him and everyone else in their year, and he is also the one who guides her through what she needs to know in terms of her studies the most. Because again, they always have class together and he wants to make sure the dorm does well since it’s important to Malleus. So at first he’s fairly neutral towards her but gradually warms up to her when she helps keep him awake so he doesn’t miss anything important in lessons, or when she decides to leave him be and she takes detailed notes to share with him. They’re also each other’s study buddies most often, and when you’re around someone that much you can’t help but start to like them. Their kindnesses to each other are quiet ones – making sure they get enough sleep/don’t over sleep, he recommends her books, she provides snacks. What Daphne really cherishes about their relationship though, is when she can get him to smile or laugh, which happens most often when she either (good naturedly) pokes fun at Lilia or laughs or smiles at his own jibes at him. Daphne likes Silver and finds him reliable, and is glad that they get along. He privately comes to the realization that she has also become someone that he wants to protect, even before her relationship with Malleus, and is glad that they’re comrades (the word you’re looking for is friends, Silver.) He is also satisfied that Daphne and Malleus make each other happy, but similarly to Daphne he finds that he likes it when she laughs or smiles. They develop a sort of sibling-like relationship.
Sebek Zigvolt – Sebek first starts out with a heavy distain against her through his prejudice calling her a ‘filthy human,’ though his attitude is curbed somewhat when Silver jumps to her defense saying ‘If Malleus-sama approves of her then why can’t you?’ This is further driven home when Malleus himself walks in on this conversation and vouches for her, pretty much saying that she’s a credit to Diasomnia, and that doesn’t Sebek think that he could tell if she was trying to use him? Then the very real, and slow self-reflection of his opinion on her begins. Sebek gives Daphne a real apology after opening his eyes to how much of hard worker she is; how kind she to Malleus and everyone else; and how she doesn’t even berate him when he claims that she’s just trying to win Malleus’s affections for his protection or for power, or to eventually turn around and stab him in the back. So, when he sees that his preconceived notions of her are incredibly wrong, he feels genuinely sorry about his treatment of her and genuinely wants to make it up to her. (And not just to get points with Malleus.) She gently suggests doing that by at least talking to and trying to get to know other humans, but ones in his year to start with. She’s pretty amused when she starts to see his dorky side, but just smiles and doesn't say anything because she knows if she teases him (at least early on) then she might backslide on the progress they’ve made. When Malleus and Lilia graduate, Daphne is appointed as the new head of Diasomnia for her 4th year, and he is appointed her deputy. By then they have long come to a truce and work well together.
Riddle Rosehearts – They become friends faster than you might think. As they’re year mates, Daphne and Riddle have some classes together. So for things like group projects where the groups are three or more, Riddle always picks her and Silver because he sees what hard workers they are and the good results they get (even though Silver sometimes gets too sleepy), if all three of them have class together. Initially, he takes notice of Daphne because she comes to him seeking ‘legal advice’ with some contracts that Azul wants her to sign and in return she offers to come and bake for him whichever treat of his choosing every week on the day of his choice for a month. (This becomes every Sunday for a month, though of course the first time she goes, it’s a trial run to see if she’s any good. When he enjoys her baking, he suckers her into making more things for him, though she agrees only when he compromises to join her in his dorm’s kitchen to learn to bake the recipes himself. This also gives Trey a break from baking all the time, too.) In any case, this arrangement blossoms into a friendship, and Riddle dubs Daphne an honourary member of his dorm, and is invited to all of the tea parties and unbirthdays and such. It flourishes because she is unafraid of his explosive temper, sensing that there’s a reason for it, and also can make a reasonable, logical argument on why too many (stupid especially) rules is not beneficial for growth. (She does research and prepares an essay and presentation and everything. Heartslabyul bow down, she is your saviour loool.) Most importantly, however, is that she listens to him and values Riddle’s companionship and what he has to say, that they become each other’s confidants in many things. (This leads her to also secretly becoming the willing recipient of the Queen’s infrequent bouts of affection. Riddle might have a bit of a crush on her…he also might not. But either way, Daphne is quite happy to give the queen a hug if he wants one.) She comes to see him as a treasured friend, and secretly a little brother figure even though they’re only a year apart in age.
Ace Trappola – She just really genuinely wonders how Ace ended up in a house as strict as Heartslabyul. The guy may be competitive which means he does have drive to succeed, but he seems wont to do things at his own pace, on his own terms, rather follow the numerous rules set out by the Queen of Hearts. (Though she does agree that there are a lot of ridiculous ones.) Perhaps it’s because he strictly follows his own set of rules rather than blindly following what someone else says? Honestly, she has to shake her head at his antics and his severe case of foot-in-mouth syndrome. There are times where it makes her chuckle involuntarily though. They don’t see each other much outside of unbirthday parties though, that is, until Deuce starts dragging him to study sessions with him. Ace thinks that Daphne is far too nice, and it annoys him at times.
Deuce Spade – Deuce, however, she has no trouble seeing in Heartslabyul. Rather than setting out on the path of the trailblazer like his rival, he seems to be determined to succeed by following every rule to the letter. Daphne slightly worries about him, and wishes she could see him having more fun which causes her to reach out to him. At least, that’s her first impression of him, but when she finds out that he’s just trying to turn over a new leaf much like herself; she invites him to study with her and Silver whenever he can make it, which he gratefully accepts. He feels comfortable around her, but also gets shy at times because she reminds him of home. They relate to each other because they both want to do their best and make something of their ‘second chance’ at Night Raven. Deuce admires her a lot, and Daphne is proud of him when he shows progress or comes back with a good grade after studying together.
Trey Clover – Daphne finds Trey to be affable but somewhat mysterious. Their interactions are fairly limited, though when they do interact it’s usually because he’s guiding her around the Heartslabyul dormitory, or giving her reminders on specific rules she has to follow while there. He’s grateful about how she can miraculously get Riddle to loosen up a bit and become less harsh when she puts him in a better mood because of her offer and demonstration of friendship. He really appreciates the fact that she’s a positive influence on Riddle. They find the other pleasant to be around, and she has to cover her smile when he pulls his harmless pranks like ‘put oyster sauce in the tarts’.
Cater Diamond – Even more than Ace, Daphne wonders how Cater wound up in Heartslabyul. He just seems very nonchalant about everything. At least on the surface, perhaps we’ll learn more about his motives as time goes on? They don’t interact much, though Daphne thinks he’s clever if a bit unfair when she hears about the tricks he’s pulled to get out of doing his chores from Deuce and Ace.
Vil Schoenheit – At first, he is honestly surprised that Daphne wasn’t assigned to Pomefiore, because on the surface at least, she looks like she would fit in with them the best. Not only because she happily indulges Epel and ‘clearly enjoys beauty’, but because it’s also obvious that she embodies Pomefiore’s tenant of being founded upon the diligence of the Beautiful Queen. In fact, he outright exclaims that ‘how could she have been assigned there, Diasomnia is for outcasts who don’t belong anywhere [else]’ and she responds with ‘and that’s exactly why I was sorted there’ without any other explanation. He doesn’t understand why she supposedly belongs there for a while, until he finally starts to get it with how flawlessly she meshes with everyone else in Diasomnia. Like she was always there to begin with. In any case, he comes out with a more positive, less self-important opinion of Diasomnia when he observes over time. He muses on the fact that because she feels she belongs there, and does belong, it makes her more beautiful. Radiant, even. Just not as radiant as him. She does run interference on Epel’s behalf whenever she can though, and tries to acclimate him to the idea that ‘people are at their most beautiful when being true to themselves.’ Of course, they also spend time together when they’re at the Studying Movies club. They often like discussing the makeup, costuming and even scenery together, though only after the movie is finished and not during because all of the movies they watch, Daphne has obviously never seen before. So, discussions also inevitably slip into discussing the writing, plot, and acting too because of her unfamiliarity and he allows it. He’s surprisingly patient and understanding that way, I think.
Epel Felmier – She thinks he’s ADORABLE and finds herself having to stop herself from fawning over him constantly when they’re in the same vicinity. Especially when she finds out when she figures out that he wants to be more masculine, so she forces herself not to, and takes him seriously. He seems a bit shy so she offers to spend time with him, and they learn each other’s interests over time. Daphne thinks of him like a cute little brother too, she might be starting a collection to be honest, and enjoys helping Epel experiment with makeup and being a face-canvas for him and when Vil forces him to practice that or his styling skills, or manners. She lets him vent, and also covers for him/provides him with an excuse when he wants to go out and do the things he actually likes.
Rook Hunt – She thinks he’s a bit odd to be honest. And is also kind of wary of him since it’s hard to read his intentions most of the time, though she regularly dismisses those feelings and gives him the benefit of the doubt. She does like his hat though and tells him so. (Will update this once the Pomefiore episode comes out.)
Azul Ashengrotto – Where most of the other boys make Daphne forget that this is a school to teach future villains, Azul is a stark reminder with his mafia boss schtick and obsession with contracts, which he attempts to lure her into multiple times. Though, thanks to the one contract that he wrote for her with the presence of the headmaster and Riddle, it is pretty ironclad about what he could otherwise approach her for outside of her waitressing job at the Monstro Lounge. So with her request of asking for ‘legal advice’ and time to think the terms over, Azul finds out that she’s more astute than he gave her credit for. Eventually, he backs off out of respect for her though because he admires her principles in not taking shortcuts to power, though this fact frustrates him. In any case, he appreciates the work she does, and does in fact stick up for her when she’s initially bullied by other students when just starting out on the job. This results in her revaluating her opinion of him, thinking that maybe he’s not as bad as she thought. (However, when she shares this with him, he laughs and says that her impression of him is actually spot-on, it would just be bad for business if she was being harassed all the time. Which is technically true, though she is determined to think better of him anyway.) All in all, he thinks she’s an interesting human. Upon learning that he and Riddle actually dislike each other she feels like the universe breathed a sigh of relief because the thought of the person obsessed with rules teaming up with person obsessed with contracts makes her shiver. It would be a formidable combination.
Jade Leech – They get along well enough when she’s working as a waitress at the Monstro Lounge, and he is satisfied with her performance on the job as long as Azul is. Though Daphne would hate to get on his bad side because she finds him slightly scarier than Azul even. What with the way he delivers threats and the promise of punishment out all with the appearance of gentility and a polite smile on his face. Or she would, if she had actually been inside the VIP room before. Luckily she would not enter into a contract with Azul lightly after all, so she has nothing to fear from them. So as it stands, they are just fellow employees that get along well enough where Daphne is thankful for his advice when she just starts out, and he’s grateful about how good of a job she does.
Floyd Leech – Floyd loves to tease Daphne by playing minor pranks on her at work to see her flustered. Though she is surprised the first few times, she quickly susses out a pattern to when and how he’ll strike and is able to gracefully recover from or avoid his minor inconveniences that way. Other than that she finds his nicknames and tame jump-scares on her pretty amusing, though she’s careful not to show it so he doesn’t overdo it. She does draw her line and reminds him that she doesn’t like to be touched or grabbed out of nowhere, and would like warning before he does things like squeezing her ahead of time. (Unless, of course, you’re her friend, then she doesn’t mind so much.)
Idia Shroud – He warms up to Daphne faster, or maybe exactly at the pace you might expect, because of how they’re both (at least initially) afraid of becoming close to others in fear of hurting them. So they’re kindred spirits in that way. When he runs and shuts himself away in his room she respects his boundaries. Instead she asks him what games he plays online, and if they could be friends on those games instead. Since she’s a complete beginner in real-time rpgs he shows her the ropes through all of them, and ends up being one of those super-generous players who gifts resources a lot especially in the beginning to help get her started. He finds himself becoming fond of her through that, and with how happy Ortho is after spending time with her. This encourages him to come out of his room, and go to class a little more because he finds himself wanting to relate to her more when she sometimes rambles on to him about something funny or annoying that happened in her own classes. His opinion of her only goes up when Daphne tells him about her own childhood and growing up in her world before she came to Twisted Wonderland and how they’re both afraid of the same thing. So he acknowledges that she’s really brave for putting herself out there. (Though maybe at first he insists that they’re not the same and that she’s a lot more selfless than he is because he says what is actually his greatest fear is BEING hurt by others, but Daphne says that that’s okay too and she’ll still continue to be his friend regardless.) And at first, he definitely thinks of her as being ‘too bright’ so it takes a bit of work on her part to get him to even talk to her through his door.
Ortho Shroud – Daphne’s starting up a collection of little brother figures, what can I say. He is adorable, and Daphne doesn’t resist telling him so. She’ll patiently listen to him ramble on about Idia (even if part of that reason is to get to know him better since he won’t talk about himself), and if she sees him struggling through the halls to bring Idia his missed class work she’s help carrying things. She’ll also play games from her world with him whenever he’s bored and looking for something new to do. One day he even suggests that after the two of them are done at the college that she should come and live at the Isle of Lamentation with them forever, “like Persephone.” Which turns both Idia and Daphne into embarrassed, blushing messes, though for different reasons.
Kalim Al-Asim – This is a very bubbly cinnamon roll in human form. Just being in the same vicinity as him is enough to make Daphne smile. His jubilant and enthusiastic demeanour is infectious, after all. He takes it upon himself (and Jamil) to act as tour guides around the school, and the town to show her wherever she may need to go and more. She’s a little taken off guard at first since she’s accustomed to being something of a wallflower by now. That is, until she remembers that she’s new and exciting (to some, in a certain point of view), but finds her confidence buoyed by his friendly and welcoming attitude nonetheless. In any case, they become fast friends, because with Kalim how couldn’t you? (Will update later)
Jamil Viper – She’s honestly not sure what to think of him other than that he seems to have a lot of secrets. There’s a part of her that doesn’t trust him around Kalim but the other, larger part wants to give him the benefit of the doubt. So she’s cautiously polite with him and assures Kalim that Jamil doesn’t have to go out of his way for them when she’s around. He doesn’t think much about Daphne unless he’s considering if she’ll be a nuisance or not. (Will update later)
Leona Kingscholar – They don’t interact much but when they do it is…Interesting. Leona is indifferent towards Daphne’s existence at first, until he catches wind of the rumours circulating about her and Malleus, and about how she spends so much time with him. That’s when he decides to engage in a little psychological warfare with his self-declared rival by flirting with her. He does it to see what he can find out about their relationship, and how he can use it to his advantage by watching both Daphne and Malleus’s reactions to his half-assed advances. He’s nothing if not respectful to her while doing it though. Once she figures out what his game is though, instead of being flustered she gets feisty and he enjoys the repartee they engage in from then on. That is, until it no longer amuses him. He is slightly surprised that she is not as meek as she looks, though he supposes that the fae prince wouldn’t fall for some weak-willed woman who couldn’t stand on her own two feet. Then of course there’s the whole magift fiasco, that quite frankly she’s surprised and disappointed that he stooped to such underhanded tactics to try and win when he's already so talented. She never fully forgives him for agreeing that a plan that puts so many people in danger was the right course of action to getting what he wanted.
Jack Howl – Jack reminds her of Deuce and Epel in some ways, and even Sebek once he starts letting her in a bit, what with all the effort he puts in and how he has someone he admires. Daphne is pleased to see that it’s not blind admiration though, and is happy that respect and admiration for Leona doesn’t supersede his own morals and beliefs. So, just like with the other three, she can’t help but want to cheer him on from the sidelines. The attention he gets from her definitely embarrasses him, but he also doesn’t quite hate it either. He can only bring himself to half-heartedly trying to shoo her away, and his resistance crumbles further when she asks him if he could join him during his training sometimes, so she can exercise more effectively and get in better shape.
Ruggie Bucchi – Daphne tries not to judge, but like with Jade and Floyd she’s not entirely successful, and at first thinks he’s a bit creepy. Then he surprises her with just how straight up scheming and malicious he can be, just to get ahead. She never quite forgives him for hurting all those people, no matter his reasons. She understands wanting to help care and provide for the people she loves but it also doesn’t escape her how much worse that stampede could have been.
Headmaster Dire Crowley – The headmaster is as much of an enigma to her as he is to anyone else, but she really is thankful when he offers her a place at the college. At the same time though, she definitely thinks that he knows more about all the over-blotting than what he’s telling. But more than anything though, she’s relieved and excited to finally start properly honing her magic, and wants to learn as much as possible before she goes back to her own world. Since she is prone to thinking the best of people, and the fact that he is her benefactor makes it harder for her to own up to those suspicions though. He is supportive of Daphne, and initially also offers to give her a monthly stipend for whatever expenses she might need it for. But when she turns it down stating that she’d rather earn money since he’s already letting her stay, plus providing for her uniform, room and board, meals, and education for free and that it wouldn’t sit well with her if he also gave her an allowance on top of that. So, he arranges with Azul to give her a job working at the Monstro Lounge as a waitress for as long as she’s a student at Night Raven College.
Mozus Trein – At first Mozus reminds her greatly of her cold and strict parents, and takes extra care to do well in his class and not draw negative attention to herself. The big difference between them though is that he actually warms up to her as much as he can to anyone, when he catches her playing with Lucius and feeding him top-quality treats. He’s purring, so if Lucius, who is very picky about the company he keeps, approves of her then he is happy to approve of her also. This sort of thinking catches her off guard, but she is happy for clemency, and finds herself asking him more questions and for his recommendations on books for further research.
Divus Crewel – First thought is admittedly WHY ON EARTH DOES HE HAVE A DOG COLLAR ON THE END OF HIS STICK-THING??? Oh god, does he use it on students who get detention? Is he allowed to?? Then proceeds to pointedly not think too hard on it for the sake of her own mental health. She does not appreciate it when his pet play kink slips into his teaching, and would enjoy potions a lot more if those slips didn’t happen. Or just flat out had a different teacher altogether. Though Daphne does have to admit that he knows his stuff.
Ashton Vargus – When she’s not busy cursing his name for the intensity of the physical activity he puts them all through, she actually appreciates his motivating personality. Nevertheless, Daphne thought she was in fairly good shape before taking his class, though evidently not. She absolutely loves flying though so it all balances out.
Sam – Give him a surname and make him a teacher you cowards. *Coughs* Anyway, Daphne loves Sam. Platonically of course, and spends a fair amount of time asking him about magic ingredients and spell effects and things of that sort to help get her caught up to everyone else. (In addition to the professors’ lessons, and things she might feel stupid asking anyone else because they might be obvious to anyone who has grown up surrounded by magic all their lives.) And she helps clean up the shop and restocking the shelves in exchange for his time. In anycase, she finds Sam to be lively, very kind and genuinely helpful so she definitely going to petition Crowley to hire him on as staff. Sam knows he’s good, but is flattered by the attention nonetheless, and is happy to give her advice since she’s such an eager and attentive pupil.

1 — What does Rozalina think of Daphne (@ot-hoe-me)?
"What a beautiful girl...!" would be Roza's very first thought. The way she carries herself, the way she smiles or the way hair falls — all of that makes Roza think how much of a pretty girl Daphne is. And Roza has an affinity for pretty girls and admiring them.
Seeing how they share the same dorm, it makes it even easier for Roza to approach Daphne first! However, since she seems to distance herself — not only from Roza but other people as well — on purpose, it makes Roza think a bit, hesitate even. But she came to the conclusion it must feel lonely like that and proceeded to try persistently and befriend Daphne!
I think once they grow closer, Roza thinks Daphne of someone who struggles with very similar things; an imbalance of power and a longing of friendship and freedom. She feels that they together could help each other to achieve their wishes!
2 — What would Daphne have to do to befriend Rozalina?
Perhaps it might be a little difficult for Daphne because of her past experiences, but it'd certainly make it easier for her to befriend Roza if she tries to remain open and not distance herself! Roza, so to say, has an affinity for befriending anyone, especially people who stay away from the crowd or people who are just plain opposites of her. So honestly, it wouldn't take too much effort for having Roza calling Daphne her friend, but if she doesn't reject her too much and even shows a little vulnerability, then it certainly makes things easier!
9. Any OCs that your OC would be attracted to romantically?
Yay, an ask! And ngl I was hoping someone would ask this one.
It’s actually really funny, because it seems like Daphne has a type which is goth, or looks intimidating on the outside, but is a sweetheart on the inside. My proof? The canon character I ship her with is Malleus, but for other people’s OCs she also has giant crushes on:

Not that I condone cheating, because I don’t but I mean, her husband doesn’t even have a face and she was planning to kill him anyway right~? XD I...I really want to write a oneshot lol, I’ve thought about this a bit too much.)
But yeah, we’ve discussed a little before in terms of their friendship, but they really balance each other out. Their goals and motivations are the same, while Daphne is extroverted and Vihn is an introvert. So it’s sort of an opposites-attract deal, and just because of Vihn’s nature this friendship and romance would be a slowburn~
@hlebkamendraws‘s Crow, oh man she has big Heart Eyes for this lady, unfortunately I have not spoken to Kama in my life but hopefully this changes soon. XD
So for now, Daphne is pining from a distance.
I do imagine that they’d become friends quite quickly though, since Daphne isn’t easily deterred by rumours and wouldn’t judge Crow by whatever past she has. It’s her actions now that matter, at least that’s what Daphne believes. Besides, she’s done things that’s she’s not proud of herself, even if they were accidents. But the consequences of her accidental magic growing up are severe. It caused her parents to hate and fear her, the people she accidentally put to sleep have lost years of living their lives. That one bully she turned into a frog could possibly be dead of old age if he got a frog’s lifespan as a side effect, or have eaten by a predator even if not, and has still lost many years of his human life.
That’s why as soon as Daphne has graduated, she’s off back to her world to break all those curses she accidentally placed. That’s why she could also sympathize with Crow, because whatever is in her own past they’re both trying to make the best of their time at Night Raven and be better. So she respects her a lot for that, because she knows how hard it to acknowledge and carry your past mistakes. So while I think these two would start off as good friends, but not be a slowburn like Daphne’s relationship with Vihn. Maybe a mid-burn??
And then the one pastel outlier, @wilted3sunflowers‘s Kit (like all the other people Daphne has a crush on lol) has a mysterious air, though his is doubled by the fact that he wears a mask. And like I said with Crow, Daphne doesn’t put much stock into rumours and prefers to form her own opinion of someone so it wouldn’t deter her from approaching him, nor would she pester him for answers.
I also feel like they would have a few interests in common, because while she thinks a gentle snowfall is beautiful and is a big fan of winter in general (how the snow looks on the branches of bare trees, the holiday season, the cosy aesthetic of wearing warm clothes and having hot chocolate in front of a fireplace), she also enjoys fall and going on walks to see all of the leaves changing colour (and Halloween, of course.)
And like Kit, she also loves the idea of going to a masquerade ball and would always daydream about attending one growing up. It would honestly make her life if she could go to even one. She also loves ballroom dancing, so there is that as well.
And finally, Daphne has always wanted a real, loving family so if their relationship ever progressed seriously enough to where Kit would want to introduce her to his family she’d definitely cry from happiness since she knows how much his family means to him. She would also worry about whether his family would like her or not, so she would be stressing over picking her outfit for days, and takes the time to buy or make thoughtful presents for each of them. And of course, she wouldn't forget to bring gifts for the hosts such as a bouquet of flowers or a bottle of alcohol, and a dish to contribute to the meal. She would put a lot of thought and effort into getting along with each of them and overall would just be very nervous and excited to meet Kit’s family.
If Kit’s not into women romantically, just take it all platonically because I imagine they could also be very good friends.

10. Any OCs that your OC would be attracted to platonically?
Yeeeesss the other question I was really hoping someone would ask me!!
First, I obviously have to say Des’s OC Luca, we’ve agreed that they would act like long-lost sisters. She and Daphne get along really well and have hobbies like baking, playing instruments and enjoying dancing in common, as well having friends with some of the same canon characters.
They also have a lot of sleepovers, alternating between their dorm rooms and talk about anything and everything under the sun, including gossiping about their crushes~
And as @prometheanglory already knows, Daphne has adopted Guts as her brother now.
It’s a slowburn friendship, but she thinks that he’s definitely worth the effort to get to know. She doesn’t like seeing people by themselves so that’s why she first approached him, and doesn’t mind that he’s a man of few words. In fact, she finds him very peaceful to be around, and seeks him out when she wants calm but also doesn’t want to be alone.
It’s also a rather fun challenge for her to try and figure out the things he likes - food-wise, activities and entertainment. All of those things. Above all she just wants him to know that he’s valued as a person, and not a tool. (Also she wants to H U G)
And finally, @wilted3sunflowers‘s Shiloh Nacre and Daphne would also be very good friends.
Her first impression of him is ‘omg i call Malleus a beanpole since he’s so tall, but this guy is even taller than our dorm leader, he’s a SKYSCRAPER’
When Shiloh comes over and introduces himself and cups her face in hands for the first time she’s very confused and a little overwhelmed?? Like she’s trying to listen to his gentle voice and concentrate on what he’s saying but she can’t because she’s trying not to cry. And failing, because this is the first time someone has gently touched her and where she hasn’t had to initiate contact in years. The last time was before her magic started manifesting in fact, and gosh it feels so nice. So she can’t stop the tears and while Shiloh’s trying to apologize for making her cry, she just buries her face into his torso and hugs him for as long as he’ll let her while she collects herself. And they’re both just so touch-starved I cry.
But yeah, they’re friends from then on and she invite him out on picnics and makes sure she brings savoury things for him to eat since he doesn’t like sweets. She’ll also make him a flower crown with his favourite flowers and offer it to him, and enchants the flowers to make sure that they never wither. I can imagine them talking for a long time about anything, or maybe reading books together where Daphne leans against a tree, and she rests Shiloh’s head in her lap.
He also seems like the type that usually listens to other people’s problems and act as their confidents but most people don’t think to do the same for him. So I like to think Daphne would fill that role for him, listening to his worries and being there for him when he needs it. She is also down for hugs whenever, she does not mind at all, she loves them.
18. Your OC can have anyone to be their date - platonically or not - to a party, who would they take? Why?
It depends on what kind of party it is, if it’s a fancy party or just any sort of event that you’re expected to have a date at she’d invite Luca if neither of them were dating their crushes yet.
If it was specifically a masquerade she’d invite @wilted3sunflowers‘s Kit either platonically or romantically because he wants to go to a masquerade too so they’d have a good time together either way since it’s an event they’d both enjoy.
If it was a rave, or concert of some sort she’d just go with a bunch of friends, but if it there was going to be an artist that @hlebkamendraws‘s Crow would like then she’d invite her specifically either platonically or romantically if she’s interested. She thinks that Crow would be the type to enjoy a good rock concert and thinks that it would be fun to be in a mosh pit type of situation, jumping around and singing together.
for the oc ask thing, how about daphne with 11, and with my ocs hanna and harpae with 7??
7. What does Daphne find attractive in Hanna as a friend?
Hanna and Daphne both have a love of dance and high tea in common, so they would bond over those things. I honestly can’t picture them as close friends friends though. Daphne would want to act as a mentor to her, helping Hanna out if she needs help or listening to Hanna’s problems and giving her advice. She would also stick up for Hanna if anyone was bullying her or spreading rumours, and would want to protect her. But the younger girl is lacking a sense of stability in herself as a person, by that I mean that it’s evident that she’s not at all self-confident. This would prevent Daphne from confiding in her, or feeling comfortable with treating her like a true friend in fear of adding to Hanna’s burdens. In short, she would probably fret over Hanna so much that there wouldn’t be room for any proper feelings of camaraderie to grow. So at most, I can see them being friends through their hobbies. She does seem like a nice, sweet girl once someone gets to know her though.
7. What does Daphne find attractive in Harpae as a friend?
Daphne and Harpae also have interests in common such as singing and composing, and if they were to ever compose something together it could be really interesting since Harpae plays rock music while Daphne plays classical. She would find their different musical perspective and overall general ability to look at different angles and perspectives refreshing. Their tendency to observe and picking up on small details would also make them a thoughtful friend to have, because they could easily pick out what someone likes or dislikes. I also get the impression that they’re not one to mince words and will give their honest opinion on things no matter what, which is also something Daphne would greatly appreciate in a friend. They would get along quite well, I think!
11. If Daphne was forced to marry someone’s OC regardless of feelings, who would it be? Why?
Well, to make this a bit more interesting, I’m going to choose an OC that Daphne is not interested in romantically (see my answers for question 9 - Vihn Torch, Crow, or Kit)
For this I’m going to say @wilted3sunflowers‘s Shiloh Nacre (I’m so sorry for tagging you so much fshshshsh) Because they would be good friends, and of all the OCs that Daphne is friends with, she would not feel weird about being forced to marry Shiloh other than the obvious. Whereas if she were forced to marry Luca or Guts that would be as weird as all hell to her because she thinks of both of them like siblings.
Anyway, they already get along really well, and would respect each other’s space/wishes in this new predicament. Though if they wanted to, I think they could definitely fall in love with each other given enough time. That is, if they aren’t allowed to get a divorce for whatever reason, and if they wanted to let the people they were actually in love with go. Either way it would be amicable, and she wouldn’t resent him for the situation they find themselves in.
If they are allowed to get a divorce after their forced marriage then they would do so, it would be amicable, and they would still be good friends after it. I’d like to think that they would try to see a silver lining in the experience by looking at it as a ‘practice run’ for marriage with the people they’re really in love with. Even if they would have strongly preferred that they never had to get married in the first place.
