A prudent person with insight foresees danger coming and prepares himself for it. But the senseless rush blindly forward and suffer the consequences. Proverbs 22:3

A prudent person operates with situational awareness, they are careful to assess an ever changing personal environment, and use their discernment in making decisions.

A senseless person only sees the surface level, not recognising the warning signs until its too late..

How do we prepare?

Read the bible

Know the Word

Trust in the Holy Spirit

Put on God's armour

How do we discern?

We develop our relationship with the Holy Spirit and maintain our connection through prayer, ensuring we spend time in God's prescence so we may grow sensitive to the many ways the Holy Spirit communicates. This may be a strong inner knowing like a gut feeling, 'leadings' where you feel a strong prompt, 'quickenings' when a scripture jumps off the page or visions, dreams and prophecies.

When you receive the Holy Spirt, He will guide you to all truth. John 16:13 It's so important to fill your mind with the Word and ground yourself in scripture. The bible is loaded with spiritual truths and many of these provide answers to lifes problems we encounter.

The Holy Spirit is within us to guide us, lead us and teach us. When faced with an uncertain situation tap in and test your insights - Is it consistent with the bible? Is it consistent with how God has shaped me? Do I sense God's peace about this? Go into everything with your eyes and heart open.

Let God Direct your Stream It’s as easy for God to steer a king’s heart for his purposes as it is for him to direct the course of a stream. Proverbs 21:1 Just as the banks of a stream shift and change to direct the course of the water, so God can shift and change circumstances in our life to guide our heart towards Him. As believers, we are His kings: But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. 1 Peter 2:9 God knows your potential, He has a specific plan and destiny for you. Just as a stream shifts and changes its course dependant on the land, so God can shift and change your thoughts, feelings and ideas to gently steer you in a particular direction. Therefore rest assured your spiritual father loves you immeasurably and wants to see you succeed. He will gently direct the course of your stream to whatever ends He chooses. Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Proverbs 17: New Growth

In the same way that gold and silver are refined by fire, the Lord purifies your heart by the tests and trials of life. Proverbs 17:3

Refining is the final stage of gold production which involves removing impurities with heat.

Likewise a diamond doesn't start out polished and shining. It takes an immense amount of pressure and heat to become spectacular.

Pressure shapes and sculpts.

Tests and trials of life shape and sculpt.

From fire comes new life.

From pressure comes new growth 🌱🦋

Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. Romans 5: 3-4

Proverbs 14: Revelation Knowledge

The lovers of wisdom are crowned with REVELATION KNOWLEDGE. The intellectually arrogant seek for wisdom, but they never seem to discover what they claim they’re looking for. For revelation-knowledge flows to the one who hungers for understanding. Proverbs 14:6

The naïve demonstrate a lack of wisdom, but the lovers of wisdom are crowned with REVELATION KNOWLEDGE. Proverbs 14:18

There are two kinds of knowledge: ‘reasoned knowledge’ we gain from self learning (on man’s terms) and 'revelation knowledge’ revealed through the Holy Spirit (on God’s terms). Reasoned knowledge is from the mind but revelation knowledge is from the heart.

Revelation knowledge is the most valuable and precious treasure we can possess. It is God’s wisdom that gives us insight into His purpose for our life. Knowledge teaches you, but God’s wisdom transforms you.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”. Isaiah 55:8-9

Man who lives out of 'reasoned knowledge’ is unable to understand revelation knowledge as God’s wisdom is only revealed through the Holy Spirit. Daily intimacy with the Lord through biblical meditation, prayer, reading scripture and conversation tunes us in to listen to Him.

All knowledge has a spiritual base, whether its God, satan or self. But what God does not fill, satan is quick to seize. Revelation knowledge is the highest order of knowledge that lasts for eternity and God wants to share it with you.

I remember the day I was jolted awake in 2010. After 3 years of fundraising for various pink ribbon charities, I began to question where is all the money going and why hadn’t they found a cure yet? When a friend sent me information on people healing themselves through diet and lifestyle changes my whole world in an instant did a “u turn”. Everything I was conditioned to believe that I thought was true now became a questionable.

I remember the day in April 2015 a little voice whispered to me “Emma I think you need to go to church” and I remember thinking yes perhaps I do..

I remember the day I took the red pill. It was the day I surrendered myself to Jesus in 2016. I had to make the ultimate decision - do I surrender my life and hand over everything I had been doing in my own strength to him? I knew I had nothing to lose, all my soul searching and everything I had been doing wasn’t working anyway. I knew in that moment of declaring Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour I would be stepping into a new reality.

I remember the day I was born again in Feb 2017 and began my personal relationship with God. Through visits to church I gradually built up trust and an understanding of who this God is. I finally felt ready for him to transform my heart and soul.

I remember the day I was “filled” with the Holy Spirit in July 2017. It was a powerful transformation that shedded old beliefs and any association I had with new age modalities. This powerful transformation was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I knew then without a doubt that Christ is real. Jesus is our true healer. My mind was renewed. I returned home seeing the world in a completely new light and was quick to shed any darkness and confusion from my life 🦋

Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new creation (this would include our old identity, our life of sin, the power of Satan, our old relationship with the world, our old mindsets. We are not reformed or simply refurbished, we are made completely new by our union with Christ and in-dewlling of the Holy Spirit). All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 TPT

Proverbs 11: Righteousness is a gift

The RIGHTEOUSNESS is rescued from trouble; in his place, the wicked one goes in. Pro 11:8

With his mouth the ungodly destroys his neighbour, but through knowledge the RIGHTEOUS are rescued. Pro 11:9

The wicked person earns an empty wage, but the one who sows RIGHTEOUSNESS, a true reward. Pro 11:18

Genuine RIGHTEOUSNESS leads to life, but pursuing evil leads to death. Pro 11:19

The desire of the RIGHTEOUS turns out well, but the hope of the wicked leads to wrath. Pro 11:23

The fruit of the RIGHTEOUS is a tree of life, and a wise person captivates people. Pro 11:30

Who is this RIGHTEOUS person?

The one who believes in God. The one who acts in accordance with divine or moral law. The one who has good standing with God, trusts in him and holds onto him.

Righteousness is a gift. It can’t be earnt, its not something we deserve, its not something we do. We can’t simply make a choice to have it in our own strength. It is a gift that can only be given to those who surrender their life to Jesus Christ and acknowledge him as Lord and Saviour.

When we declare Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and submit to his authority, he takes away the blindfold of darkness and enables us to see light and truth. He liberates our spirit to believe.

Before we receive the gift of righteousness we live in permanent seperation from God. Permanent seperation means there’ll always be a feeling of something missing in your heart that you’re searching for. When you surrender your life to Jesus and acknowledge him through your thoughts, attitude, words and intention, you’ll receive the gift of eternal life. Nothing will ever separate a genuine believer from the love of God.
