SPOILERS FOR DARK DECEPTION CHAPTERS 1, 2, 3, AND 4!

So, chapter four is out. And with it, new lore has been revealed.

Now we know the backstory of the character we play, Doug Houser.

With this reveal, something popped into my mind. What if all of the chapters are a play on what he's done/what he's experienced?

The Monkeys and the hotel probably represent him sneaking away from his wife and daughter to have an affair with another woman.

The school and Agatha most likely represent his daughter. Moreover, the relationship between Malak and Agatha is probably a play on what Doug never had with his daughter, Tammy.

The mansion and the Gold Watchers probably represent Doug and his wealth. As said in their wiki, the gold watchers "used to be very greedy in life", which leads me to believe that this is based on how Doug used to be when he was still in the mortal realm.

The sewers and the Dread Duckies probably represent Tammy's toys or the little care Doug had for his daughter.

The clowns and the amusement park can represent Doug's cowardliness or to show the childhood Doug never provided for Tammy. The clowns are said to be cowards in their wiki, which is most likely a play on how Doug was somewhat of a coward when he abandoned his wife and child.

The nurses probably represent the hospital that Doug resides in for his cancer, and maybe represent the hatred his wife has for him. The nurses are shown to hate men, which is most likely showcasing how much his wife resented him when he left both her and Tammy behind.

The Joy Joy gang is probably also a play on how he never gave Tammy the childhood she deserved. Lucky and Doug are very similar in a couple of ways- they are both egotistical, they boss others around, and they both hate losing.

The Mama Bear and the Time-Bomb Teddies probably represent the family that Doug left behind, but this time it is shown through children's stuffed animals.

All in all, I do not believe that this has been confirmed, this is just a theory.
