Carson wasn’t entirely sure this wasn’t a dream. One minute she’d fallen asleep on the couch and the next she’d woken up in a bed. A bed that definitely wasn’t hers, in a room that wasn’t familiar to her. There was a body curled into her and in the morning light just barely coming through the window she noticed two things. The first was that the person curled into her was Jonathon. The second was the glint of a wedding band on her hand. Well that was… weird. In bringing her hand closer to examine the ring she also noticed a new tattoo. Specifically, three quarters of a sleeve.
“Babe, babe, wake up.” She shook Jonathon, trying to wake him up. There were too many details for this not to be real, but how far into her own future, provided this was her future, had she missed?
"Five more minutes.” Jonathan mumbled before a sharp hiss of breath marked his almost immediate transition from sleep to awake. Blinking his eyes, he stretched one arm out, pushing himself up onto the other elbow. After wiping the last of the sleep from his eyes, he focused on Carson, a lazy grin spreading across his face.
“Hey.”
He dipped his head down, pressed a kiss to her shoulder, then trailed several more kisses across her skin as he worked his way towards her neck, asking, “Good sleep?” before he reached his destination.
