The Uchiha's weakened replied had Neji rolling his eyes a bit " I don't know isn't really an asnwer." He muttered as he moved to place a hand over the wound caused by Kakashi. His hand had begun to glow green, Tsunade may have been a legendary medic ninja. But she was no genius, either. Under Kabuto's tutelage while Sasuke was learning from Orochimaru, Neji had learned medical ninjutsu’s, for just these kinds of instances. Which was, a genius move, honest.  He narrowed his eyes a bit, focusing on just trying to save the other, if anything "Stupid. I'm the bodyguard, remember?" Neji commented with a bit of spite in his tone as he spoke. Bowing his head slightly down he continued to push chakra into healing the other boys wound.

As Sasuke had told him to get out of there he shook his head " Remember. WE are in this together. You go down. I go down." Neji had said before moving to start to pick the other teenager up from the ground " I can get the blood to stop, we just need to get somewhere where we can do this more properly." Neji informed the other as they were trying to resist his help. Neji batted the others protesting hands away easily and started to drag Sasuke toward the trees, for some cover "I don't see him... but I know he's watching." Neji knew the other would kill them if he absolutely needed to, Kakashi had had rumors all about him doing such things before, to people he had cared about far more than either of them. Well, at least him.

Neji let out a breath and dropped Sasuke to the ground on the other side of a tree " How much do you think your former teacher is willing to kill you, at this point. Hm?"  Though he had the feeling that Kakashi wasn't alone. That would be stupid to imagine such a thing. Neji knew there was more out there, watching them, waiting. They wanted to take them both in alive. It was clear to the Hyuga " They aren't here to kill us, if it's not absolutely necessary. There's more of them, waiting..." Neji informed Sasuke, veins growing around his eyes as he used the Byakugan to take assessment of the surrounding areas and found several other, strangely enough, waiting. Not necessarily hiding. It was clearly pointless when going up against him " Run, or surrender, Sasuke? This is your mission."

“Too late” (Sass finds Neji)

Blood stained the ground all around a battle area, which had been empty now of any thing left alive of plant like. Not even the tree’s seemed to get away unscathed. Blood had stained a nearby, smallish pond that was littered with small craters. There was one body, or pieces of it having been torn apart and tossed around, perhaps not just one body at all had littered the area.  By the looks of them, it was Leaf Village ninja who had been slain and now strewn around like gruesome confetti. The scattered prints of paws, almost exactly like a dogs had imprinted into what earth had remained untouched in the area, signalling to who might have lead, and most certainly was not dead, in this attempted ambush. Several more trails of blood lead into the the darkened, dense forest off to one side there there was continued sounds of fighting for another few moments. Before even that suddenly died. Neji, with his byakugan activated, eyes nearly glowing and lived, stared Kakashi down, lift his right hand up, saturated in nearly dried blood, he smirked a bit at the older Leaf Ninja “Did that hurt?” He teased. 

Of course, there was no response from Kakashi, who was not even, technically, Neji’s sensai “ Why don’t you give up, huh-- He will never listen to what you have to say. Just like-” When the other had said that the Leaf didn’t care if he lived or died, but were more focused on reclaiming the Uchiha, Neji grinned “ I know. A Hyuga who has defected is better dead, than the Hyuga secrets potentially getting, right?” Kakashi didn’t say much before commenting that his mission had been completed, and then asked Neji if he wanted to die there, where he was sitting bleeding and badly ripped open. Or go home to die, at the very least around friends and family “ What family? Hinata? Hanabi? ...Their pathetic father? The rest of those pathetic Hyuga of the Main Branch? No. I will not be tormented by their questions why I did what I have done. They know why. They just refuse to acknowledge it. Just like every one of you...who let a branch die for your own safety. For theirs. --Hm.” Glancing away, he blinked away the tiredness threatening to take over.

 “I’d rather die alone. Than be fooled by their love, again. They wished to change nothing-And you Leaf wish to see nothing. But I’ve seen you. All of you. Keep your fake faces. Your precious Village will be safe, but for those in power and of nobility, perhaps a day will come, very soon, when that house of cards will crumble and they will see you all for what you really are. A fake fire, burning all it’s competitors till there are no more.” Kakashi seemed well, less than entertained by what the Hyuga was saying, and seemed for the most part to be ignoring Neji, by looking around, almost as if he were bored. Before stepping away and moving to go sit by a tree and patch up his wounds, saying he would wait for Neji to die before taking his body back to the village where he could at least get a proper funeral of some sort or another. Tilting his head, Neji looked around  “Just throw my body in a river or something, let me wash away into an ocean. I’d rather not be revived like you know whose a few years back. And I doubt anyone’s going to bother looking in the fucking ocean.” Coughing then, Neji moved his right hand to his mouth, spitting up blood into his palm, that trickled out onto the back of his hand.

Neji had at first been doing very well while keeping some traitorous sand ninja back or cutting them down as Orochimaru had demanded them to. However, sand and ninja's were very tricky indeed. Neji had before when fighting Naruto shown that he wasn't so observant of what had been under him. But unlike the weakness at his back, the one under his foot could have with more practice been a lot easier to guard. Neji however did not practice in protecting that part of him, since he had joined Sasuke in joining Orochimaru. Flipping back he had landed gracefully, before spinning, sending several thrown kunai from his body. Stopping he narrowed his eyes as one of the sand Ninja that had remained in front of him collapsed to the ground and the other had began to charge toward Sasuke.

Dashing toward the runner, Neji had quickly closed in on the sand ninja. The pair clashing, sparks flying of their grinding kunai " No you don't." Neji had managed to get out before moving to push the sand ninja back from him. Only for them to spin around and try to kick the back of their foot into the side of his head. Neji stumbled slightly to one side, wincing a bit as pain had erupted along the side of his head where the foot had managed to hit him. The pair had continued to fight a little more before Neji had finally stabbed the ninja in the chest. However, they had crumbled into sand. As Neji watched this, in the next second the sand ninja's true body came up from under the sand digging a kunai savagely into Neji's thigh. Kicking backward the Hyuga narrowed his eyes, looking down at the wound, the kunai had stayed during the jump.

Smirking a little, the dark haired boy reached down toward the kunai, but paused just before he was seemingly about to take it out " Oh. I'm definitely going to have fun killing you." Neji muttered, his eyes activating. Taking off he flashed across the field toward the other ninja, chakra building up at his finger tips. Instantly at the sand ninja's face he struck his fingers out and into their body, pieces of the sand ninja had begun to explode sending body parts and blood splattering around the sand. By the time Neji had finished their were a few small creators just in front of him, stained with blood and whatever remained of the ninja. The Hyuga stepped back, stumbling a bit, the smirk on his bloodied face lasting a little too long.

Then, it was gone, dull lavender tinted white eyes shifting to the wound in his leg once more. Now he could feel the blood loss beginning to affect him. Reaching down he grabs at the bleeding limb attempting to stop it, but soon realizing he had needed to get medical attention for it. Stumbling toward Sasuke then he shouted about not being able to stop the bleeding. When the other questioned him he grumbled under his breath a bit "What do I mean, he says. Oh I don't know, i'm trying to save the dead guy from bleeding. What the fuck do you think I mean, bird brain." As the other had gotten toward him he dropped a bit, the color somewhat draining from his face " D-don't remove the kunai, or it'll only make the bleeding worse. Careful." He warned as his hands were being forced away.

Sitting now, which was offering some comfort he swallowed thickly " I didn't let them hit me, asshole. And Orochimaru really doesn't teach me anything. I got stuck with Kabuto of all people. That guy's kind of..." He trailed off not really having the words for how to describe Kabuto " He's not exactly Orochimaru and I am not exactly either ones favorite ninja, little bird." Neji had reminded. Then he looked over his shoulder toward the corpses " Mission success though. Let's go home I need a bath-and stop any infection before I lose a leg." He giggled lightheadedly before poking Sasuke in the nose “You should see how worried you look-” He dropped a bit at his waist the faint sound of snoozing coming from him.
