I voted ahmren, Lyndsay, 24, she/her. dystopian is my favorite genre. 3rd POV. always here for romance, not love triangles though. secret dating is the best, as are mutually supportive and in love leaders. Thanks M!
the tiny ancient one approves!
When she was born, the Overseer branded her with her destiny, the ink meant to dictate her whole life. Unfortunately for Lyndsay, her ink spelled out You will die in pretty cursive. In the world she lived in death was inevitable - they were short on food, on water, soon they would be short on air too - but there was something concerning when even the Overseer deemed it necessary to remind her of her mortality.
But life went on, if barely, until one day the System crashed and the Overseer went silent in the face of the Rebellion. Lyndsay wanted no part of it - she was no fighter - but her fate ended in death one way or another, so she figured it would be better to meet her end with a smile and a burning heart. Her partner, however, wasn’t so fast to believe in a system that had tried to doom them all, wasn’t so fast to let her dig her own grave.
And maybe there was some truth in that, in the silent strength of his presence, in the smile that lit this eyes. Maybe there was no fate.
But then again, the Overseer was never wrong.
