“A History of the Justice League” - The World’s Greatest Heroes of DC Rebirth:
During The New 52, the different incarnations of the Justice League both clashed and had exciting solo storyline, from the members of the Justice League, JLA and Justice League Dark fighting the forces of the Crime Syndicate of Earth-3 in Geoff Johns and Jeff Lemier’s 2013’s arc “Trinity War” (panel 2) to Johns and Tom King’s 2015 epic saga “Justice League: The Darkseid War” where the world’s greatest heroes go up against Darkseid once again and when they are victorious, they receive the power of the gods, including Batman who now has the power of the God of Knowledge (Cover panel presented). In the current DC Rebirth series which began in the summer of 2016, there were initially two Justice League series. One headed by Bryan Hitch starred The New 52 roster of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, The Flash, Aquaman and newly added Mera and Green Lanterns Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz. This Justice League clashed with Task Force X in the arc “Justice League vs Suicide Squad” (panel 3) when Batman has to recruit some of Amanda Waller’s villainous members from Harley Quinn to Deadshot to Killer Croc to be temporary members of the JL when Maxwell Lord takes out the original members with the Heart of Darkness. The second roster in Justice League of America (panel 4) include Batman, Lobo, Black Canary, the Atom, Killer Frost, the Ray and Vixen. As the Justice League continues to fight the new threat of a Dark Multiverse in Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s current DC Rebirth run “Dark Nights: Metal” (panel 5), the modern League shines on the big screen, taking decades of stories with them into the DC Extended Universe. We will conclude our History of the Justice League in the next post, so stay tuned! ✌🏼💙🦇📚
