Meet the Angel - Miles Ketch

Today we get to talk to a new Angel and model in the truest sense of the word, Miles Ketch. Miles is an all-American guy that loves his girl and loves his cars, but has turned onto the unexplored and winding street of modeling. When you get a chance, be sure to give a warm welcome to this cool dude.

L: Good morning! How are you today? MK: Can't complain. How're you?

L: I am well. So, the first real question is how did you get into modeling? MK: My fiancee actually. She asked me to accompany her to one of her shoots, then next thing I know, I am in front of the lens myself.

L: haha Was that by chance the Winter Shootout I hosted last December? MK: Why yes, yes it was.

L: That's so epic. So, you've only been at this a few months now. Correct? MK: Correct.

L: Oh snap. We have a Corbon Dallas in the house. So when you aren't modeling, what are a couple of your favorite past-time things? MK: Scuba Diving, whenever i get a chance. Those that know my experience call me amphibious, or part fish even, because of my comfort in the water. Other than that, hopping in my Camaro or on my Hayabusa and cruising the road.

L: Nice selection of things to do! So, are you a vintage car lover or just on the elegance of the newer models. MK: I appreciate Classic American cars, and modern day exotics more. I have expensive tastes in  cars, but I appreciate the overall elegance more.

L: *fist bump* Got to keep those expensive tastes in toys. That's all I have to say in that. Okay, onward to the other big things! What is it you look forward to most from this year long experience? MK: Networking.  I'm really interested in seeing where this venture will go.

L: Thinking on all of the things to come. What's the one future shoot you think everyone should be on the lookout for? MK: The gods alive project.  If everything goes according to plan, the shots could possibly be pretty sick!

L: Ooh, yes. Yes indeed. That one project is a very big thing to be on the lookout for. Okay, last question for the day. What are three things you cannot live without? MK: Bullets for my guns, Fuel for my vehicles, and my fiancee.

L: Nice save there, sir! haha

Meet the Angel - Eitanya

Oh, I'm sure many of you have seen or heard of this lovely lady.  She's the second leading reason of why the Darkshi's Angels came into existence.  Many of you will recognize her past works with us, or even some of her cosplays at conventions all across the Florida Panhandle and the Gulf Coast.  By the way, if you haven't stopped in her shop before, you really should. But enough with the intro, let's get to the interview!  Hit the jump to catch it. 

L: Oh what cute earrings!   E:  Thanks, they are the Mirror Edge logo.  Sam got them for me for Christmas last year.  L: So, the first real question is how did you get into cosplay?  E: I'm way into Halloween costumes and doing the underrated characters and finding attire was always challenging.  So we were introduced to cosplay and needless to say, it's addicting.  L:  Who introduced you to cosplay? E: At the time I was working at Gamestop and picked up a copy of Game Informer and they had an article about it.  It was interesting as it was about a cosplayer wearing their Prince of Persia outfit.   L:  So how long have you been cosplaying now?  E:  A little over 2 years.  At times I feel like I've been doing it forever and other times I feel like a complete noob. L:  I know those feels! So besides just cosplaying, you actually do commissions for others cosplays as well right?  Yes, I do.   L:  And for about how long now? E:  Been doing it over the last year.  I'm still trying to build my own portfolio and it's still mostly props.  L:  So where do you get inspiration for your own cosplay and works?  E:  It's mostly from playing video games and watching my husband play.  I don't even play as much as I'm more into tearing apart the outfits so I can make them.  I'm the same way with movies as well.  L:  I know that one, I cannot even watch a movie without dissecting how the lighting is done. E:   How did you learn about Lotus or Darkshi Creations?   I meet Lotus at Destination Anime two years ago, our first convention and competition.  She was in the crowd getting ready to go on stage.  The first time we worked together she had a call out for someone with good looking cosplays that would look good in a junk yard.   L:  What is your ultimate cosplay? E:  Ooooo.  Hard one.  For a while it's been Tyreal from Diablo 3.  But he's on the agenda right now and I feel comfortable enough to finally try and tackle him on.  After that we will just have to see.  L:  We look forward to that one I might add.  So are you a TV watcher or music hound when working?   E:  I do a bit of both.  Lord knows I've pretty much killed the Lord of the Rings behind the scene sections as well as watching some Project Runway.   L:  So when it comes to music, what are some favorite styles?  I'll listen to a bit of everything.  But I do prefer hard rock, techno, dub and just music that helps to get you motivated.  L:  What are the 3 things you couldn't live without if you were stuck on a deserted island? E:  Oh man....  Pistachios. I feel like this is hard, it's so deep!  Oh so hard!!  Chocolate obviously.  Hum..  Oh and Sam.  He's going to be so mad I didn't say him first. 

L:  That's okay.  Pistachios always override in our book too.   So the next hard one.  Name 3 random facts that people don't know about you.  E:  1) I've been cutting my own hair for about 5 years now.   2) Growing up I always wanted to be a prop maker, ironically, or a stunt woman.  3) I also have had fibromyalgia for 11 years now.  Sometimes it feels a lot longer, but it doesn't get me down for long.  L:  Last question we swear. What is it you look forward to most for this year while working with Lotus as a Darkshi's Angel?  E: I'm looking forward to the collaborations and challenges.  When you get all these creative people together it's amazing how the ideas just feed off of each other.  We end up going further than what I would probably have attempted alone, and that's a good thing!

Meet the Angel - Elizabeth Cather

Over this last weekend we had the chance to sit down with one of the first Angels to push Lotus into creating her Angels program.  As many know from a previous blog, this was brought to life thanks to three amazing ladies.  Jo of Eitanya Designs, Nathalie of That Girl Cosplay and Elizabeth Cather.  Today we will be meeting the lovely Elizabeth.  So let's begin shall we?!

Hi there Elizabeth!   Hi!  So, the first question, how did you get into Modeling? A mutual friend of mine who modeled, introduced me to Charles Howard, who pulled me into the world.  How long as that been now? Since September 2014.  So not all that long.  Love it.  So when you aren't modeling, what are some of your favorite past times?  I enjoy rock climbing, creating costumes, I currently work part time at Fredericks of Hollywood, and I absolutely adore to travel. Creating costumes.  Is that just for conceptstuff or do you cosplay as well? Both; it depends on what the photographer is looking to shoot. But sometimes I get ideas in my brain and become determined to bring them to life; an example of this is an idea I have for wings and have been toying with the concept since November of 2014. Are these the same wings that will be included for the calendar shoot this year?  Yes, they are; I don't generate enough income to create anymore. The feathers alone will be over 300 dollars this is not including the framing structure to hold them. But I also want to create other pieces that I am toying with in my brain. I just need to make the time to turn them into reality. So mad expensive!  Real feathers I take it.  Those should be killer to see once they are finished.  So with all of these awesome ideas and such, do you find inspiration from any particular designers or artists? Yes, real feathers, Turkey rounds and pointers to be exact. Not solely one artist; it is difficult to explain sometimes ideas just pop into my head or I tweak a concept that I have seen on google images, or comics and manga. The calendar shoot concept came directly from my brain as a tribute to the goddess Morrigan from Celtic lore. She sounds amazing.  So while on the talk of things to come.  What are you looking forward to doing while being an Angel this year? I am looking forward to the experience of working with a group of people; I normally tend to be more introverted and I am looking to work outside my comfort zone. Also, the concepts that have been introduced to the group sound amazing and I can not wait to become a part of this epicness. I feel that by the end of the year we all will have become a big family; which would be nice. Plus there is always the networking bonus that is important in this line of work. We keep hearing about all this epicness!  What is one of the shoots you think everyone should be on the lookout for? The God's Alive Project is probably the most major concept that is being discussed, outside of the calendar shoot, The Muse concept is also sounding fun because so many girls will be involved. The paint concept is also fun because who doesn't love playing around in paint.  I think that the group concepts are the ones that everyone should keep an eye out for; all of the Angels bring a special uniqueness to each concept. So, with all that said.  You're just stoked about the year with Darkshi Creations and the Angels.  We love it!  So one last question.  Can you give us 3 random little facts about yourself?  We like random things. ;)  I am totally stoked! This year will be amazing! Hmmmm let's see random things..... 1. I attended a private Christian school until 3rd grade at which my parents had to remove me because I almost got expelled for getting too much trouble.  2. I admined a porn blog with my husband for 8 months until I got bored with it. 3. I hate being in crowded spaces, it makes me nervous and uncomfortable to be around too many people.
