Are there ship wars? Are they a popular character to ship, or the kind of character that gets shuffled off and away from shipping for whatever reason?

Omg there would be so many ships for Aeron. From his canon ships to crackships, my boy would get around, I think.

I fear the biggest ship war would probably be between Aeron/Laenor and Aeron/Shiera. Because there would definitely be some bi-earsure happening together with the general fandom misogyny towards the woman that is the obstacle for the happy ending of the show’s main mlm ship things would probably gets bad between certain subsets of shippers.

There’d be a few people who acknowledge Aeron’s love for both his SOs though, and those are the true Aeron-understanders. Aeron does have two hands after all.

What would be the ‘incorrect but wildly popular’ interpretation of your character in fandom?

Hm, I think I might have to get some second opinions on this because I have no idea. 

Maybe that he is more invested in and eager to pursue his Targaryen heritage than he actually is? Like he loves his momma but he doesn’t really consider the other Targaryens his kin. He'd never choose them over the man and people that raised him.

What role would your character play in the story? Are they a major player, or a one scene wonder?

Aeron would be a recurring character but not really a major player; at least in s1. He’d get more important in s2 probably since he’d be on Rhaenyra’s war council and later serve as one of her generals + he’d be Laenor’s canon partner. Similar to Gwayne and Criston he’d be a character through which the ground action, the gritty, bloody battles are shown, just from TB’s perspective. 

I can see him getting more screentime and attention as the show goes on and once he reunites with Laenor and Jace since he is in the thick of major plot beats along with them.

Precious Rowan. I think she'd be a divisive character in the fandom. You love her or you hate her, no in between. But even in the love and hate camps, fans have wildly different reasons for the strong emotions, and throughout the show's run, people might go between loving and hating her several times.

"You see how much she's like Daemon! She's an awesome female dragon bad bitch! But oh no, she betrayed her dad, what a snake!"

"Rowan hates Daemon now, but surely she will see the error of her ways and come to his and Rhaenyra’s side when it matters most. right!?!"

"I have proof that it will be revealed that Rowan and Alicent had a passionate affair the duration of Alicent's whole marriage to Viserys! Alirow forever!"

"Rowan's true love is Rhaenyra, and the only reason Rhaenyra ever got with Daemon was a way to be with Rowan! It's so clear they want to be with one another! Why can't she choose the 'right' side!?!?"

"Daemon is a peice of trash, and Rowan could tell any side he was on was the wrong one!"

I do believe there would be those that could see Rowan in a more nuanced light and appreciate her character's arc for all its complexity, but she'd have a lot of spirited debate and passion around her going on in both directions.

If my OC was canon how would the fandom treat them?

Oh, Rowan would definitely be divisive and evoke some strong emotions. And honestly, I would be so into all the nuanced debates and discussions. I think good characters are supposed to be divisive to an extent, because they are not clean-cut, they have flaws and that’s what makes them interesting. Which is what I am aiming for with Rowan.

There’s always going to be those that only engage with the characters and stories on the surface level though and by god, those takes would be absolutely horrendous. 

But I am absolutely seated for all the ships. I can totally see ‘Alirow’ be something that happens, it definitely has a lot of appeal (see rhearoyces' Daena for a Royce-Targling that smooches Alicent).

I DID! I can barely believe it myself! Easter was my self-imposed deadline and I am so happy I managed to meet it.
