Hello! Yes, Rochelle Neil is not on the season 4 cast list. Guess we will never see Cassandra again. Loved them together. Can you tell me what exactly happened to their relationship? Was their any closure to it? Season 2 ending wasn’t quite clear to me. (Just three episodes into S3 yet. Would like to know before I watch any further) And the news currently out on S4, can you tell me a little bit about it? And the reason why you think it doesn’t make sense for her to appear again? Hey! Of course, I'll tell you as much as I know! Attention though, heavy spoilers for S2 and especially S3 and light spoilers for S4.
The ending of S2 wasn't all that clear to me either, but it comes together a bit better once you make it to the end of S3. She doesn't appear in S3 either, which you could probably tell from the cast list of that season too. It seems after the last scene we see of Hoffy in S2, he is arrested by the Americans and then freed by the Journalist Gardiner who takes him to Portugal, effectively forcing Hoffy to help him (otherwise he'll be turned in to the German authorities and charged for treason). At the end of S3 he returns to Germany with his father, and after twisting the story a bit he's a celebrated hero who uncovered other treasonous acts committed by Reinhard Weiss in Portugal.
As far as the summaries for S4 go, it seems Klaus will be sailing out as a commander again while also trying to undermine the German Government and potentially working towards getting rid of it altogether. Since all of this will happen in Germany and Cassandra can't exactly come to Germany, I doubt we will see her again. Plus, I'll be honest here, to me it felt like Cassandra was a storyline they wrote in to give Klaus something to do in S2 besides spilling U-Boat secrets to Sam, and to establish him as an unprejudiced German who is definitely not a Nazi, so the audience can allow themselves to like him. In S3 and 4 he has a whole lot to do and "no time for romance" and his work directly against the Nazis establishes him as a "good guy" well enough.
Of course I'm not saying that it's definite we won't see Cassandra again, since we also saw Tenny again in S2 even though he died in S1, but I do think it is highly unlikely. Hope that helps!
