यह सन् 1998 की बात है। तब मैं प्रकाशन विभाग से निकलने वाली उर्दू मैगजीन आज कल में सब एडिटर था और मेरे संपादक थे शम्सुर्रहमान फारूकी के भाई महबूब रहमान फारूकी साहब। तब शम्सुर्रहमान साहब का एक मजमून इसी मैगजीन में छपने के लिए आया था। संपादक जी ने वह मजमून मुझे पढ़ने के लिए दिया और कहा कि इसे पढ़कर इस पर अपनी राय दो। उस वक्त मैं शोध का छात्र था। मैंने वह मजमून पढ़ा तो बहुत अच्छा लगा। मगर कुछ चीजें…
