Hearing the sound of screaming in the next room Winry grew worried as she rushed out of bed to the room, it sounded a lot like Edward, and her suspicions were correct. "Ed! Get up." She shook the blondes shoulder so she could get him to wake up. She was worried about him.
They were happy. She was happy. She loved them and they loved her. Until she died.
"Why couldn't you bring me back, Edward?"
"M- Mom? I- I only-!"
"I trusted you Edward."
He was speechless. Blood squelched from his left leg.
"What have you done to me?"
"Mom! Mom I'm sorry!"
"What have you done to your brother!? Why did you sacrifice him? I trusted you to take care of him!"
He was sobbing. Blood was pooling around his feet from his leg and his shoulder. "Mom, please! Please forgive me!" He stretched his left arm out towards her, fingers trembling, desperate for her touch. "Please Mom!"
"Edward! You've FAILED us."
------
He awoke with a scream, brain in a vivid whirl of despair and blood.
It took several moments of panting before he realized his hands were clutching something. It took another second of blinking away the terror in his mind before he realized his left hand had a death grip on a creamy wrist. Another beat and his eyes strayed to his senseless automail right hand, clamping down with terrible strength on a well-muscled shoulder, covered by pale, thin cloth.
Then he looked up and met Winry's wide blue eyes.
In an instant he had whipped his hands back to his sides. "W- Winry!? Wha-? What are you-...?"
His throat felt raw, his heart was still pounding and his tongue worked uselessly in his mouth.
