The very first post, the very first piece of more words in this world full of information
Hey there! This world has been swamped with information. And I guess it’s because almost everybody has the urgue to produce and post their opinions. Well, I got also this urgue. But I know there are not coming deep thoughtfull ideas from me. So I’m going to produce some data smog as well. That’s why this page is calle DATA SMOG FACTORY. (just so you know)

Cognitive mental processes can be overloaded by too much information. Nascent terms like, information glut, infobesity and data smog are ugly byproducts of the information age, but as it pertains to prophecy and future events this can rarely happen.
All legitimate prophecy is found in the Bible and since that book has not changed in centuries only speculation about it has any chance of creating…

surfing your tangents - Daft punk to the M and M Mixes
When I am searching the internet I often find that I forget my inital query, along with the path, that lead to a discovery I'm not sure if this is part of the data smog phenomenon. I think that internet searching is a solitary pursuit and the resulting isolation leads to depression more than surfing through 'irrelevant, unclear and erroneous fragments of data.' I would like to think that what I search and read is relevant, clear and correct. My recent discovery of the compilation M + M series by John Morales inspired me to record the path of the discovery. I often tell students that researching is like writing a journal in that it should show the path you take and allow for reflection on what search strategies worked and which didnt. So here is my path on discovering the M + M mixes
I was initially looking for information on what James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem thought about Daft Punk, specifically his thoughts on hearing them for the first time and what he thought of their new album. While I should I have begun my search to see if he has an official site and/or twitter I started with a google search of "Daft Punk James Murphy and homework" (Daft Punk's first album).
The third result of my query was a pitchfork review/history of every song that LCD Soundsystem released. While reading the article I learned about a soul jazz comp called In the beginning there was rhythm that focused on post punk. Sadly it isn't available via spotify so I went to look fort its availability via amazon.
Its amazon page didn't have song previews so my eyes drifted to the bottom for related record purchases. One was a disco comp called Best of Disco Demands. This had previews and was availble via spotify. It features lesser known disco tracks that have been remixed to increase the length of the original track. While searching its amazon entry I saw another related purchase that pointed to the M + M mixes.
The M + M mixes are the work of a producer/DJ John Morales, who has been active since the disco era. The mixes, which are available via spotify, feature songs that sound like either disco hits from the late 70s or rb from the early 80s. I've spent most listening to the first volume. I can't say I enjoy every song (not to crazy about the 'aint no mountain high enough' track) but I think the reason I stopped my search at this result was that it is related to the initial search. These tracks would fit comfortably in a mix of early daft punk releases and lcd soundsystem songs.
