It’s hard to believe next time I log in I’ll be on a different datacenter. I started out on Excalibur when I first began playing and did some raiding there for a while. But eventually I decided the raiding scene wasn’t really for me and I wanted to focus more on RP so I ended up on Balmung, back when it wasn’t as impossible to get on the server. I know some people are about to be pulled apart from long time friends due to the change and I realize today may not be a happy day for everyone. Yet today I will be joined by friends from servers that I had always hoped to be able to travel to. It’ll be nice to be able to go over and play with people with my main characters and just hang out.
I also realize that the system likely won’t work perfectly day one. There will be issues, lag, kickbacks and errors. It’s a stressful system for the servers and any first day push for new features is usually met with some troubles. Once the hype dies down and they stress test the new feature to work out the kinks, it’ll settle out. I am looking forward to seeing what possibilities this new system is going to put in place.
