Ren/The Red King

So, I read Dog at the Door by fluffy_papaya and iamsolarflare. It was incredible and this is me recommending it. (Go read it, seriously it's amazing). I wanted to draw Ren/RK how I imagined him throughout the fic, and here he is!

Ren becoming the HC king is so funny from a Dog at The Door view, because you can picture Ren doing his silly little king things all while RK is screaming in the back of his mind that “THIS IS NOT HOW BEING KING WORKS, I TOLD YOU GAME OF THRONES WAS NOT VALID RESEARCH MATERIAL.” Or “REN MONARCHS DO NOT GET VOTED INTO POWER, THIS IS A STRAIGHT UP DEMOCRATIC ELECTION.”

The Mandalorian:

• Travel Buddies (>276,000 words, ongoing, multi-book series, Ao3) [SFW with NSFW scenes posted separately; action, adventure, serious plot, romance, Force shenanigans and more plot, Moff Gideon is scary af, Din Djarin keeps his helmet oath, Grogu is an adorable menace and Mars wants a refund on babysitting duty]

This fanfic started as an exploration of Mandalorian culture and ways it could manifest, and my want to write cute fluffy feels interspersed with lots of action-packed fisticuffs and shoot-outs. I wanted to write a thrilling romance story that was deeply meaningful, without Din breaking his helmet oath. It really bugged me how they handled that aspect of his culture in the series, and I wanted to represent it in a more deliberate, tangible way.

The Bad Batch:

• "Comfort" - (2,230 words, completed one-shot) A comforting scene with Echo. [deals with PTSD, cuddles]

• "The Little Details" - (1,184 words, completed one-shot) Crosshair isn't as unshakeable as he likes people to think. You're just the peace he needs. [deals with PTSD/panic attack]

• "Kittens and Soldiers" - (1,601 words, completed one-shot) Omega and Echo find a pregnant cat, and ask Hunter to keep her. [PURE. FLUFF. Warning: cuteness overload. Hunter misses an important memo but it's all good.]

Bad Batch Fic Excerpts:

Excerpts from a larger, currently-very-jumbled-up fic I have in progress, that can be read as one-shots.

Follows the tale of "Butterfly," a mildly force-sensitive, female Reader character who ends up joining the Bad Batch as a janitor after Things and Stuff.

While I tend to write with the image of a very petite Reader in my head (because I myself am a tiny little lady lmao), I go out of my way not to describe them in the story. Butterfly is described as having long hair.

I actually have two slightly different versions of the same general storyline on two different documents. One is called Scoped Out and the other one is Butterflies and Bones

• Excerpt 1 - "Tech Talks; Comfort" - (134 words, excerpt) Tech provides comfort in the only way he knows how; gently and factually. [Reader is distressed]

• Excerpt 2 - "Blushing Trooper" - (3,330 words, excerpt) Echo, acting as medic, is Butterfly's primary caretaker on the hyperspace journey home. It's a little different helping a pretty lady to the fresher than one of his injured brothers... And back out. [Mildly NSFW, mentions of medical treatment/past injury, Reader is injured and dependant on help. Hurt/comfort fic scene]

• Excerpt 3 - "Toothpicks" - (1,443 words, excerpt) Crosshair joins Butterfly for a quiet conversation while she's recovering from her injuries. This scene also explains where Butterfly earned her nickname. [pure fluff, a little flirty]

Someone he’s never met. Someone who clearly means a lot to the Red King, at least enough for him to take their shape. “Your Hand, right?”

[treebark week day 4: shadow/secret]

i know the obvious answer for the shadow prompt was doing something with last life, but i had the urge to pay a tribute to dog at the door. this is from chapter 22 (called ‘shadows’!) where RK takes Martyn’s form. not exactly how i imagined he’d look, but, drawing a mass of shadows accurately isn‘t exactly easy :P
