given daemon’s more… unique… situation — that being their status as a very self aware bug, or glitch if that’s your preferred way of describing them (anything but virus) — it almost goes without saying that a romantic relationship with him is going to veer quite strongly away from what one might consider ‘typical’ or ‘normal’. both within and without the confines of the world it was created to inhabit. and not just because of how easy it is to get her to switch between romantic, platonic, hateful, and nonexistant relationship routes at pretty much the drop of a hat. not that the atypical nature of your courtship is a bad thing per se, just that you may need to adjust a bit
as stated previously, the course and progression of your relationship with daemon is left entirely up to you and they’re mostly just willing to let you lead them towards and beyond whatever ending you have in mind. and that more trusting approach extends well past your initial courtship and into your relationship itself once you two make things official — partially out of habit on his end, admittedly, but now also in large part because she doesn’t really have any experience in romance and trusts you to guide it forwards lest they mess up and scare you away
daemon loves y o uuuu. daemon loves you a lot. to the point where their loyalty isn’t so much an implied part of your relationship as it is an unshakeable law of the universe he crawled out of her game of origin to inhabit alongside you. in fact it’s loyalty to you, their unshakeable loyalty to the love you showed her, is so undeniable and all consuming and ever present that it almost borders on suffocating sometimes — but after a while his constant presence beside you becomes more of a comforting constant than anything else and that same loyalty becomes nothing short of assuring, so you can’t complain too much about this particular quirk of theirs
daemon doesn’t necessarily bite you — they don’t think they do, anyway… not usually, or at least not often — but the idea of playfully biting and being bitten by you is appealing to him in a way she can’t quite put into words. and if you give it the go ahead, you will be subjected to plenty of nips and bites… including some that you’re not even sure he should be capable of giving to you based on where her face is currently located, but you’ve been with your bug long enough by now to know not to question these things… so you just let them take their fill until you’re breathless, laughing, and can taste the metallic tang of your blood on its lips when she leans down to kiss you in a surprisingly normal way
you’re their favourite thing to watch and learn about, and daemon watches you a lot. even more so now that she gets to be with you in the real world, unbound by the shackles of his creators. and while its almost blank stare drilling into you while you sleep or go about your day is a bit unsettling at first, with time you grow used to it as you do all of deamon’s habits and come to appreciate their curiosity for what it is — especially when you get to see that endearing, if oddly proportioned for their face, smile spreading across his features whenever you do something that particularly flatters or amuses her
daemon pretty much never uses your name now that you’re an item, only ever using it when you’re having a serious discussion or they’re telling you something important and need your full attention. instead it uses a series of affectionate, and sometimes vaguely concerning, pet names to refer to you including, but not limited to: ‘my favourite broken thing’, ‘(my) sweet lover’, ‘beloved’, ‘(my) other half’, and so on
try not to think too hard about how he’s able to kiss their way down your back while pressed forehead-to-forehead with you, or how she is both holding your hands in both of its while playing with your hair with yet another hand, or how you can hear daemon’s voice coming from literally anywhere but where their mouth usually is while she’s whispering an attempt at sweet nothings into your ear. its body just doesn’t obey the laws of geometry as you know them, and thinking about it all too much is just going to make you ill, so you’re best off just saving yourself the trouble and letting him love you as only they can
deenah and what they were originally intended to be prior to being scrapped is… something of a difficult topic for them. of course daemon does open up to you about it, and tell you a bit about what he can remember about the character, but it’s clear as day that she just finds the whole thing frustrating and even a bit upsetting so it’s best to just… not bring it up if you can help it. if it wants to talk about deenah then she will, just trust him to know their own limits on the topic, okay?
for as much as it delights in annoying and teasing you — both within the game world, and beyond it once they leave to join your side until you both run out of content — daemon never actually wants to scare or upset you. and whenever she does, typically by accidentally taking things too far, he is always quick to genuinely apologise and try to make things right with you. at least, once you tell daemon that you were upset or frightened, anyway… human expressions and body language is still something that they’re getting used to reading and there are still moments where he may struggle to read you without a nudge in the right direction
