@mydrunkkitchen to answer your Snapchat question- if you have medical needs they tell you not to pack the medical stuff in your checked bag so they can't be held responsible if you don't have it. Also your hotel probably has spare toothbrushes and toothpaste so you can brush your teeth😊
GUYS BUFFERING IS SO GOOD! (I know I’m late to the party) I absolutely had to post a review for this amazing book! Thank you Hannah for sharing such a amazing book with us!(via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLXXA0hOU9c)
Hartbig. This is total fiction. SFW. SFF. 1483 Words. Feedback would be awesome:)
Four Emojis Changing Lives
Hannah was confused to say the least. A middle finger, a thumbs up, a heart, and a winky face. What the hell was Grace trying to convey? The text had arrived moments after Hannah returned to her hotel room. Grace and Mamrie were still out with some of their creator friends even though Hannah was turning in early, due to an early morning meeting. Hannah decides to get ready for bed while trying to figure the text out. When she couldn’t find any solution though, she decided to leave it be. The Holy Trinity panel is tomorrow, so she’ll make sure to ask Grace then.
*BAM! BAM! BAM!*
Hannah jutts awake. A glance at her phone shows that it is only 2 in the morning so the thought that she might have overslept for her meeting quickly exits her mind.
*BAM! BAM! BAM!*
“HAaaannnnnnnnnaaahhhh! Open the doooooooooooooooooooooooorrrrrr!” Hannah opens the door to find a fairly drunk Grace standing, or well leaning in her door frame. Once the door is open though, Grace waltzes inside. “Why hello there. Needed to check on you. Don’t read and not reply.” Grace pulls off her heels as she tries to explain why she’s there.
“Grace, what are you talking about?” Hannah was barely awake as is, but with Grace leaving out every couple words isn’t helping.
“I sent you an important text. No reply!” Grace sits down on Hannah’s bed.
“Grace you sent me a string of emojis. I don’t know what you were trying to say! I still don’t!?” Grace pats the bed next to her so Hannah sits down.
“No. I said I love you in pictures!” Grace states before laying down and falling asleep.
“What?!” Hannah feels like everything makes even less sense than before. Since Grace is asleep though and she won’t get any other answers right now, Hannah lays back down and decides to sleep some before her morning meeting. But just when she is about to fall asleep, Grace rolls over and drapes an arm across Hannah’s waist. There goes any sleep, Hannah thinks as she lays there not moving.
Even though she’s exhausted, Hannah’s alarm wakes her easily. The arm around her waist though makes her quickly shut the alarm off. Everything from last night comes flooding back to the forefront of her mind. Hannah knows she doesn’t have any time to sit around and think though, so she quietly dresses and leaves the room, deciding that being early to her meeting was better than waking the sleeping bear that is a hungover Grace.
Her mind was barely with her throughout her meetings. Hannah’s mind wanted to just play everything over and over again. Hannah keeps checking her phone in hopes that Grace would message her, but one meeting quickly flew into another and soon she was being escorted to the Holy Trinity panel without hearing from Grace all day. Luckily though, for once, Grace was the first of the trio to arrive.
“Hey dude. How you feeling?” Hannah says as she walks over to Grace.
“The hangover is real,” Grace says with a short laugh at the end before taking a sip of her coffee. The duo sees Mamrie walking towards them. “Can we talk after?” Grace asks quickly.
“Yeah, of course.”
“Sorry guys! I couldn’t stop watching the Beanz cam! Ready for the Holy Trinity Panel 3.0?”
“I think they’re ready,” Grace motions to the curtain where the trio can hear their community waiting for them.
“Then let’s not keep them waiting!” The three girls enter the stage to hear the screams of the hundreds of people sitting there. The first string of questions were about current projects and future ideas before shifting over to the slightly more out there questions.
“Hi!”
“HI!” All three reply to the brown haired girl with glasses.
“My name’s Katie and my question might be weird but I’ve asked this to all the panels I’ve been to. What’s the last text you received?”
“Well mine’s super easy!” Mamrie starts while Grace and Hannah look at their phones. “The place where my little Beanzer is staying texted me a link for the live cams they have. Which is obviously why we were late! I’m OBSESSED!” Mamrie smiles before turning to Grace for her answer.
“Um… last text I received… Oh it’s from you Mames. ‘You get back to your room ok?’”
“Funny enough because mine’s just a string of emojis from you Grace, which can only mean one thing- Too much alcohol last night!” The crowd laughs and Grace plays it off but Hannah’s phone buzzes in her hand.
G: Was that really your last text?
H: Yeah dude
G: Nothing this morning?
H: Nope.
“Wow guys. Way to make me feel like a third wheel on your Hartbig date. Want me to leave you lovebirds?” The crowd laughs as Grace and Hannah put their phones away. The rest of the panel goes smoothly with jokes, pun, and oh so many fart jokes.
“Well I’d say that was a very successful panel! I’m going to go try and catch the last bit of Colleen’s panel before my next panel. You want to come?” Mamrie asks.
“I need food!” Grace says.
“I could eat too,” Hannah decides to take Grace’s cues.
“Well then I’ll catch up with you two later!”
“Cheesecake Factory?” Hannah asks.
“Of course!” The conversation as they travel to and order their food is light and easy. Once the first drinks were on the table though the discussion fell quiet, almost as if a reminder of the night before. “Wow, look at the elephant,” Grace’s voice is dripping with sarcasm.
“Yeah, we should probably discuss that.” Hannah takes a sip of her drink. “What happened last night?”
“I mean I thought I made it pretty clear. I sent you I love you in pictures and you said nothing back.” The embarrassment or shame that Hannah expected from Grace was nowhere to be found.
“How was I supposed to get that from a middle finger, a thumbs up, a heart, and a winky face?”
“Since Camp Takota, I thought you deserved a middle finger, in a good way,” Grace gives Hannah a thumbs up,” because I realized that I love you in a winky face way, a more serious, I like you like you kind of way.” Hannah is speechless. “And you don’t normally not reply so I came to see you” Hannah still can’t think of the right thing to say. “Now do you always just leave the girls you spend the night with without a word? Waking up alone sucks Han.”
“WHOA! I had a meeting, you knew that! Plus I didn’t want to wake up a hungover Helbig.”
“I would have given you a kiss goodbye.” Hannah nearly chokes on her drink.
“What?!”
“Well like if you had been cool with that. I’m not saying I’d like hold you down and force you. Ohmygod, am I thinking too deep. Do you not feel the same way? Am I the only one that feels this way? Fuck! I shouldn’t have sent anything!” Grace is rambling at this point.
“Grace!”
“What?”
“Let me get a word in. No I feel exactly the same, you’re not the only one. And I would have kissed you back.”
*A Year Later*
“Hi I’m Lexi!”
“HI Lexi!!”
“My friend Katie was here last year, but couldn’t come this year so I told her I’d ask for her. What’s the last text you received?” The three girls look at each other with a smirk.
“Well I got some emojis from Grace. Specifically, the two girls holding hands, a ring, and two brides followed by a question mark.” A shocked gasp went around the room.
“My last text was a yes.” Grace says with a smirk and the room is silent in hopes that Grace says who the yes was from.
“My last text was in our group message,” Mamrie motions at the three of them. “But from Grace. It said ‘do you think a Hartbig wedding will kill the fandom? She said yes!!” And while the audience freaked out, Hannah reaches over to hold her fiancee’s hand while placing a kiss on her cheek.
“We’re getting married!” Grace says excitedly. “All thanks to a middle finger, a thumbs up, a heart, and a winky face.”
“What are you looking at babe?” Grace climbs into bed as she asks.
“Tumblr connected it.” Hannah smiles at her fiancee who has already draped an arm to hold her close.
“They’re like fucking CIA anyway. You knew they would eventually click it together.” Grace snuggles into her fiancee’s arms before saying with a smile. “We just murdered the fandom.”
“Hartbig, the ship to sink all other ships.” Hannah agrees while thinking back to how a year ago now her life changed forever, all thanks to four seemingly random emojis.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSS! Congrats @gracehelbig! You deserve oh so many more but yay 3M!!!
Ydadbook asks: 13, 14, 15
Sorry it’s taken so long for me to reply! Finals kicked my ass but here we go!!
13. Terrible Flying Experiences: Are you afraid to fly or have you ever flown?
I fly a lot (or well as much as I can) because I love traveling and actually I love flying hahaha so yes I have flown!
14. Spears-Mint Mojito: First concert you’ve ever been to?
I grew up on Broadway so if this is like live preformances in general, my first was Beauty and The Beast the Musical when I was like 4. But like actual concerts, my first one was the Jonas Brothers when I was in like 8th grade cuz my state fair had them do a free concert and like 5000 people showed up and girls were like fainting because of heat stroke hahahaha!
15, Nightcap: What’s your bedtime routine?
Usually I take my nighttime insulin (surprise I’m a type one diabetic!) as well as any vitamins I’m taking and then take off my makeup, wash my face/shower, brush my teeth, and read/stay on social media until I fall asleep basically:)
Thanks for the questions!!
Just a bit over a year ago I was at a NoFilter show in NYC where I talked with @mamrie about how I was majoring in alcohol so watching YDAD was not procrastinating but studying and she told me she was rooting for me to succeed. Well Friday I took my last exam and today I turned in my final essays so THIS GIRL IS FINISHED WITH COLLEGE AND GETTING HER DEGREE ON THURSDAY!!
Am I just enjoying my new merch finally or is this my attempt at a @gracehelbig cosplay? The world will never know!
