Migration is an album by American pianist Dave Grusin released in 1989, recorded for the GRP label. The album reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz chart.

On this diverse and generally interesting (if not essential) CD, keyboardist/composer Dave Grusin performs a five-song suite from his soundtrack of The Milagro Beanfield War along with selections by Harvey Mason, his brother Don Grusin, Hugh Masekela, Marcus Miller and himself. Other than the suite (which has a string section), the music is mostly played by smaller groups, with Branford Marsalis on tenor and soprano a major asset on three songs and flugelhornist Hugh Masekela taking a solo on his own “Polina.” (Scott Yanow/AllMusic).

Kaleidoscopeis the studio album by the acclaimed American jazz pianist, composer, and arranger Dave Grusin, originally released on July 18, 1965, through Columbia Records. Recorded in New York City in late 1964, this record showcases Grusin’s early mastery of straight-ahead hard bop and sophisticated post-bop piano jazz long before he became a legendary, Oscar-winning Hollywood film score composer.

One of a Kind is an album by American pianist Dave Grusin released in 1977, recorded for the Polydor label. It was reissued in 1984 by GRP Records. Reception. AllMusic review by Scott Yanow rated the album 3 stars stating “A fairly typical Dave Grusin date from the early days of GRP, this set features five of the keyboardist/producer’s originals. The music is often atmospheric and a bit cinematic, with Grusin assisted by the soprano of Grover Washington and flutist Dave Valentin (along with top rhythm section players) on two songs apiece. … The music is pleasing, but not too substantial.”
