This has got to be one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE films, whole life. To me, it was absolutely flawless from start to finish. Too many filmmakers try to be overly stylistic or allow overly glamorous casting choices to pass muster. His film had an air of natural authenticity unlike any other filmmaker. Mickey Rourke was, as always, more than just believable. He made you feel something, never phoned it in. I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve seen it or bought it.
