I watched this excellent series on catch up last week so I bought the book also by @olusoga to my shame I literally knew nothing about black British history. Black and British is a great series and well worth watching. David is an engaging presenter and shares a very moving personal experience of racism that is hard not to be affected by. 29/50 books in 2020 When Olusoga writes how "black British history is hidden in plain view" and then proceeds to explain arfefacts like the Drake Jewel or places like Bunce Island, it becomes painfully apparent how many vile people work on erasing black people from British history and culture and how many support this work with silence.
