I’m honestly living for Kim Chi and Dax talking about being fat in their teen/young adult years.
Specifically the one portion where Kim talks about seeing how no one will sit next to you on public transit and Thorgy comes back with “Really? You notice things like that?” Because you really do, and people who have never been fat have no idea. You notice every look that comes at you. When you have to pair up for this or that, no one wants to be with the fat person. When I was at the treadmill at the gym tonight I noticed that all the other machines were full except for the ones on the right and left of me. I’m lucky. I’ve grown a skin a mile thick to those sorts of things and I’ll do my thing anyway, but not everyone has that skin. Listen to these queens when they’re talking because they’re giving you a glimpse into what life is like when you’re fat. “People don’t treat you like a person.” I’m not whining or complaining or trying to pin the condition I’m in on anyone else, just saying that its true, and maybe cut the next fat person in your life a little slack.
