Some sidenotes
(in the background: smoked myself stupid and drank my insides raisin dry)
_________
Day Oof's drummer, Stefanos once told me he had trouble nailing the drum intro to NOFX's Separation of Church and Skate. Hearing it a the gig tonight, and as far as i discerned correctly played by him, i enjoyed the second of two NOFX covers. MFH played Dinosaurs must die.
Vati deserves a medal for all those high-jumps he did avec bass, and a high-five for an overall stokeness.
Blink-182's All the small things, ironically enough covered by Βλιαχ-166, lacked a bit of enthusiasm. But i love Blink so who cares, they covered Blink is enough for me.
The drummer of Middle Fingers High, whom i'd met in the summer (a carpenter by trade which i think is bloody neat-o), and whose name escapes me (Stavros?) impressed me with his drumming. I would need a Drumming for Dummies to know what may be considered applaudable drum playing, but he had me. If anyone knows him, tell him Danae said so.
Viktor's (as far as i know) virgin show was well-accepted and i heard people saying he'll go far. Well with a veteran line-up like No Balance, i have little doubt. Always dug their guitar melodies.

You are not punk rock
Just got back from a gig with local punk acts.
During the headliners, there was this little twat of a wasted youth dressed in a chicken suit, clearly wasted, i mean pissed as a bloody tea-pot.
Throughout their whole performance he strut on stage, tireless, undeterred and obliviously ignorant. His wondrous act included a water show of emptying bottles aplenty on stage, onto the audience and down his crotch as if urinating; there was plenty of rolling around on the floor and unplugging of bass guitar wires, as well as the gratuitous air-humping of the band. His few attempts at stage-diving we perhaps the only thing to consider about writing home about.
I found it hard to concentrate on the band with this dick prancing around like My-Fucking-Little-Pony.
I wanted to grab that fucking chicken, shove him into the pit and start a goddam riot.
Day Oof's tour kick-off gig was defiled by some cunt without a clue.
Maybe i'm being a total bitch about this chick (after all he is part of the youth of today... ω θεοι) but bite me already, i didn't enjoy the show as much, thanks to him, so there.

However: The little ponce was saved, deus ex machina in retrospect, by the commendable Middle Fingers High performance. They single-handedly made me very glad indeed that i went to the gig. They had heaps of energy - you know, that 'fuck this, let's rip it up on out way down' sort of thing. Punk rock, man.
Here i must add Yianni's wicked bag-pipe performance got people clapping, whistling and shouting Bravo left, right and centre. Some dude even bought him a beer when he was done, which was possible the single most supportive act i've seen in the Greek punk scene; as in ever. Yianni got me smiling.
No Balance, an ever fix'd mark in the Greek punk/post music scene (with many thanks to Theo Vranas' drum playing i must add), after having changed 2 singers already, kicked of a new era with the initiation of a new one: Viktor.
Βλιαχ-166 were enjoyable. Kudos for singing in Greek.
