South Africans speak English, but that doesn’t mean you’ll always understand us. We have 4 distinct forms of saying now 🙈 1) Right Now - “Right Now”. More urgent than now with a higher probability of something actually happening. 2) Now - “Eventually, Maybe” Basically almost not quite, absolutely now… maybe. 3) Now Now - “Shortly” Which can be used both in future- and immediate past-tense. It’s more immediate than Now, but still may never happen. 4) Just Now - “Later” Realistically its an unknown amount of time… could refer to a few minutes, tomorrow or never. ——————————————————— What unique sayings do you guys have in your country? • • • 📸: @kristofoehl 🙆🏼♂️: @zenography ——————————————————— @folkportraits / #folkportraits @portraitgames / #portraitgames @portraitpills / #portraitpills @portraitsofsa / #portraitsofsa @thecoolmagazine / #thecoolmagazine @mobilemag / #mobilemag @vscosouthafrica / #vscosouthafrica @artistic.avenues / #artistic_avenues @wwports / #wwportraits @visualmags / #Visualmags @lookforlights / #lookforlights @delightfulportraits / #delightful_portraits @portraitgasm / #portraitgasm @be.gramed / #BeGramed @focal_lounge / #focal_lounge @weexploreza / #dayworkshops #exploreza #gasmask #grafitti #grafittiart #urbangraffiti #jozigrams (at Johannesburg, Gauteng)
